This sound similar although a few thousand miles more in 2015 sold for double the one you are looking at now ...https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/142-1998-Ferrari-550-Maranello/?lot=15821&sd=1

If it's anything like this ,just buy it !

If I were JB, I would not be selling that car under £50K.

As to the green car you have been offered for £75K, that seems like a very fair price to me and I would suggest you don't pass on it. In fact, I think you would be a fool if you don't do a deal ASAP.

Well it's an old boy that owns it, he's no good with computers and doesn't have a smart phone so pictures are going to take a while.

Meanwhile KHPC are going to arrange to get the car to them for a full inspection and report at some point. It's all a bit unknown when this will happen under the current circumstances. Having slept on this I'm in agreement with the comments above. If this pans out to be what it is then it's the car for me. I just get the feeling this isn't going to be a quick process, but that doesn't matter, I've been looking for the best part of 3 years so another few weeks or months is no problem.

He'll be keeping then. I can't see anyone parting with that sort of money for that car. At the height of the sillyness a few years back maybe, but not now.

Oh my! Good thing it’s RHD or I’d be clearing out the savings (what’s left). Wow that is literally the dream spec

Just enough green leather to make it interesting. My old Daytona had a dark green interior that was quite attractive.

    I’m no expert.

But the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Factory Michael Schumacher Optioned Carbon 550 Maranello cars are older than the WSR cars. (1998).

But better spec than the WSR cars. Plus (if you can find one) cheaper.

    Just a thought.

Full Carbon from the factory (unlike the WSR). So rare for the 1990’s.

The carbon fiber option was even rarer on the 550 than it was on the 575M.

Love the carbon interior, so happy I found mine with the option. If anyone ever wants to trade their grigio carbon sport seats for my grigio/carbon Daytonas, I am game!

At nearly $9K, not too many takers for the CF that long ago, even after McLaren introduced the CF chassis in F1 in 1981. I do not even have a Monroney with the CF option on it.

This is very nice. Plainly beautifully maintained. Go for it! And such an interesting spec, those seats, gorgeous.

I know that the carbon is rare, valuable and looks great - but to me it is the antithesis Of what the Maranello is about. It is a fast gentleman’s (and lady’s) tourer, not a race car....

^This. Looks outstanding on an Aerial Atom, but paired with luxurious leather stiching, thick carpets a stereo and airconditioning it's just jewelery.

Contraversial I know as many people love the stuff but it just looks like tat to me on anything other than a race car. On a race car (or hyperfast thing) it makes absolute sense in it's function.

I'm on it. I can't pass on this one, it's just too nice.

Just waiting now - lots of stuff outside of my control. Glodal pandemic, no viewings, etc etc.

Christopher: Maranello won its class at LeMans a couple of times, so it can make a pretty good race car. Plus the CF trim is just for looks and does nothing to save weight. Sure is pretty, though, if you like it.

Well, phone call this morning from KHPC telling me the owner has had a wobble and now doesn't want to sell. That's annoying, I'd got excited that I'd finally found one.

Horses for courses I guess- I agree CF looks great, I understand why people pay extra for it and I will be happy to have acres of the stuff on the McLaren I intend to buy because the decorative cf reflects the integral role it plays in the structure of the car.

On the 550 I prefer to evoke the era of the great Ferrari grand tourers (275, Daytona etc).

That said I am not a massive fan of Scuderia shields on road cars, so I clearly swim against the tide on these things...
