He actually said the GTO 53289 was the nicest car (of any make) he had on his show to that point, and also said it drove beautifully, as can be seen on the show.

One of the most satisfying transactions I have been involved in a few years ago was the sale of GTO 54225 for the legendary Giuseppe Risi https://www.risicompetizione.com/about-us/giuseppe-risi/ & https://pakelo.com/en/pakeloheroes/giuseppe-risi after this GTO had returned from Maranello post-engine rebuild (it was a quick one!) and repaint, my son http://sterlingsackey.com/ did the inspection honors and we supplied the car to Beverly Hills, California.

Was this is the earliest GTO gathering, or was it the one at Zandvoort?

 

tool kit is wrong for the car, that is an F40 tool kit with window tool added

 

There was a Ferrari Benelux meet at Zandvoort 14-16 June 1985. And there was the meet at Prescott 20 July 1985 but neither one was a specific or specially designated 288 GTO meeting. Both meets were general Ferrari meetings and on both occasions some of the newly delivered 288's turned up. In Prescott arrived also some French delivered 288's, etc.
