Here's what I did... I bought a grommet kit. Then a small piece of thin speaker wire attached to a split ring at one end, passed through the grommet, then wrapped around the 6mm allen bolt. Seems to work great and is hardly noticeable.

No, they did not. Though these are replacements in the car now that you see in the photo, the car did have the original floor mats in it when I bought it 30 years ago. This is a USA model 1984 308QV..
Original carpets in mine have press studs to the floor .Theses sill work in stopping them slipping . It’s the protective over mat that has a propensity to slip forwards and jam the peddle open .
I picked up 4 hooks and some grommets from a shop type home depot. Drilled the hole for 8.5mm:s. Mounted under the rails. Image Unavailable, Please Login ///TRS
