Thinking about it while I’ve got the rear panels out. They have the 1156 and 1157 equivalents readily available now. Pricey though.
Just drove underneath a deer. It completely cleared the car and our heads thankfully. 328 GTS with targa off.
I did the same with my garage floor. Same kit from Lowes. Your right , the prep was the hardest. The epoxy was way way way, thicker than I expected. Here is a before and after pic. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Looks great! Did you finish it off with the clear coat? I used it and liked the way it turned out - gives it that wet look... Now you just need to post a pic with your car in there!
Umm never thought about the clear coat. Can you recommend which clear coat to use? Here is a pic of the garage with the cars in it ... Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Wow! Very nice! Rustoleum makes a clear coat finish to seal the Epoxyshield. I was originally just going to do the Epoxyshield but then all the reviews I read suggested using the clear coat to seal the Epoxyshield as well as giving the floor an extra glossy (wet) look. It also helps to seal those decorative sprinkles. The box says it covers 450 to 500 sf when using on a floor that has the epoxyshield already applied. I have a 3-car garage (between 500 and 600 sf) and two boxes was barely enough to cover the entire area (pretty much all the reviews said it doesn't go very far). But really happy with the way it turned out!
I used Rustoleum Epoxyshield. The directions say it should dry for at least 3 days before you drive on it (and it also depends on the outside temperature).
About 3 days before you can park on it. 2 days before you can walk on it .. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Oh really? I’ll have to look into that. The flakes you sprinkle on, do come off here and there. Clear coat sounds like a good idea. Is it easy to apply? The epoxy was very thick, I was a bit surprised how thick it was. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
The clear coat was pretty easy to apply. But, like the epoxy, the pot life is relatively short so you have to work quickly. I didn’t have much trouble with the epoxy. Did you apply it in cooler temperatures? I have a garage heater that I kept going the whole time to help with the application and dry time (I live in Indiana and the weather/temperatures this time of year are unpredictable).
I'm in California and its 100 degrees here these days. Ok i"ll try out the clear coat, thanks for the advise.

A high quality clear over epoxy is a must do imo. Over time the Lowe's epoxy will fail under hot tire spots. I went to a professional concrete supply biz to get the epoxy and clear for my garage and it has been perfect for years. Decorative Concrete Supply in Carrollton (north Dallas).
Thorn, do you happen to know what model, number, or type LED bulb to use for both park/brake and turn indicator?
For the Amber turn signals, front and back (4 total): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CO1FI90/ (Sylvania 7506 AMBER color bulb) For the White front bumper lights and Reverse lights, front and back (4 total): https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/products/interior-and-exterior-bulbs/sylvania-led/7506_syl_led.jsp (Sylvania 7506 WHITE color bulb) For the Red light/brake signals (2 total): https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/products/interior-and-exterior-bulbs/sylvania-led/2357r_syl_led.jsp (Sylvania 2357R RED color bulb) To stop the turn signals' "hyperflash" with the LEDs, replace the turn signal relay with an electronic one. I used a Novita EP36 Electronic Flasher. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/novita-technologies-4462/lighting---electrical-16777/fuses-16615/flasher-hazard-warning-turn-signal-11491/78cb037f9bc6/novita-technologies-13-5-amp-3-terminal-turn-signal-flasher/ep36/4542967?q=novita+ep36&pos=0 All of the above you can find at the local O'Reilly Auto Parts.
Acquired a F106B engine that had been packed away for a long time. Supposedly low mileage with bad rings and recalled. Removed and swapped by a dealer. Some good stuff on it for sure.
My trunk zipper slider on my 78 GTS trunk cover finally broke. I ordered another zipper slider for a #5 coil zipper with lock. I removed the thread from underneath the zipper to install the new slider. I lightly lubed the zipper teeth (coil) with graphite suspended in alcohol. I tested the new slider and it worked great. I used a needle and thread to sew the zipper end. Works great. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Already have Birdman:s fuseboxes and Rodney Dickman:s accelerators and cleaned the switches but now the passenger side window started to blow fuse when used so had to do the real thing! Cleaned and put in litium grease in the motor gear using Martin308 GTB:s tool. Success. Drivers side tomorrow. ///TRS
