Ferrari sadly is famous for being utterly inept at running 2 cars. Especially in the last decade it's as if they forgot they actually have 2 cars competing.

Ferrari is fully behind Leclerc. Unfortunately for Sainz...

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Sainz has yet to visit the factory and already he's doomed?

Do you know how many 1 - 2 finishes Ferrari has had in it's history? I do.

A truly phenomenal achievement and proof what good team management can do with 2 good drivers over 9 years.thats now the benchmark

Yep, given the time Mercedes has participated in F1. They went on a 55yr hiatus.

Leadership and effective organization under management that values results not placing blame. What a concept and so novel lol

I like F1. Single seat racing with virtual seats for a million opinions. Why can Mercedes do the one two and not Ferrari? I remember 'Multi twenty one, Seb. Multi twenty one!' Red Bull set out to give both drivers a fair crack and bent over backwards to give them them both the best cars and strategy.
Ferrari needs to think 'Total Performance'. No stone unturned, no avenue untravelled, no B side of the garage. I want to see two As for effort and achievement and that will take a lot of hard work, not fluffing of egos.

I feel Sainz will be okay with that. Now say he wins 3 races and Leclrec only 1 this season. If Ferrari still places Leclrec #1 in 2021, then I would be upset too.

I just don't understand this thinking from drivers that if you don't perform (when you're given preferential treatment) that the following season, things might (and should) change.

I personally think Mercedes has a better car and an excellent driver. Hard to overcome both things.

True, Mercedes should be commended for the awesome performance we've seen in the last 6 years.

Good car, excellent organisation and a top driver.
The sum of these parts makes Mercedes a winner.

Although it personally pains me, the results speak for themselves.

I guess we can call that human nature but I like to think Team Ferrari entered the F! season and not Leclerc or the Hamilton F! team!

If I was team manager i would make it crystal clear who was No 1 and who was subservient, if you want the top job in the team then you have to perform, Leclerc may find out that the apprentice is now the craftsman and its a whole new game.

Ps- . Thats not to say Sainz would be inferior to the No 1 driver at all.

As I watched Lauda's greatest moments I was reminded how he left Formula One and came back to win for Ferrari. Sebastian has left and could regroup I suppose, but even in 2018 he was making mistakes. That's not to say Hamilton has never made a mistake, but so few they come as a surprise. Mercedes has had the engines, the back up and the strategy to support and make the most of two drivers. Earth, wind and fire. Ferrari racing seems to have the fire and passion a plenty, but not the ability or composure to advance steadily and relentlessly on all fronts, sadly.

Not according to Zak Brown, head of McLaren; he believes Carlos is an excellent choice for Ferrari and for the Ferrari 'situation'.

He hasnt read the small print then,:) IMHO you have to have a clear team structure otherwise you will get infighting and petty squabbles from people who should know better and realize they are very fortunate to race, manage and be part of a F1 team.............and get handsomely rewarded too.

Let the bloke prove himself (i hope he does), beat Leclerc and then he can start talking with some authority, at the moment he hasnt much on his CV

It's the same as when Irvine, Barrichello or Massa joined Ferrari next to Schumacher. The contract doesn't state second drive, but everyone in the team knows he is.

I like Carlos but never seen him as Numero uno.

I think you could include Mansell, Villeneuve, Alesi and many more. The history is there for the guy to see so if i was him, I would keep my head down, beat Leclerc and kept quiet. Cream will always rise to the top unless stirred:)

Alesi was the wonder kid but failed dismally at SF, fast but didnt acheive much without a decent car. Will we have a repeat with CL?

Obviously the team will have some preference for the guy who already has been in the team for two years and has been "rised at home", but Leclerc hasn´t shown enough yet to think he´ll be an undisputed number one.

Well, you know you are number 2 when:
    - the team listen more to the other driver for set ups
    - you are not given the same equipment
    - the team strategy is articulated around the other car.
    - you are asked to give way to your team mate during the race

Agree, let him do the talking on the track. Not much good comes from those that talk a lot off-track who can't back it up. Look at...well, Sainz, after his experience with Verstappen :p
