Can someone measure the distance from the floor to the fenders on what is an acceptable height so it does not look to high ???

Also,,, is there a model number for the novitec springs or are they all the same for a 2011 458 coupe with lifter and 20-21 setup

There is an acceptable measurement that Novitec recommends that is in the instruction sheet. If the installers stick with that, then they should be good. Every car is different (as you can see by this thread) but that is included typically in the labor time we quote to fine-tune/dial in the labor.

We have the springs in stock - it is the same part number for 2010-2015 458 Coupe/Spyder. The Speciale/Aperta have a different SKU.

We are currently offering FREE SHIPPING on EVERYTHING purchased through our web site during our Spring sale that ends on 5/31/16. Click HERE to find out more information/pricing on the Novitec Springs for 458, or to place your order.

    Hi,

I would never lower a car using stock springs ever again. I had a 430 and my dealer lowered the car at my request by adjusting the number of turns on each shock. The car looked great but the car handled terribly.

The car was very bouncy and the nose would lift under acceleration and dive under breaking.

Also the car had a big tendency to understeer and went straight on damp roads at low speed.

I also nearly came off a motorway because I was travelling very quickly and I hit a bump in the road and the car bottomed out sending my car off at an angle.

If you don't drive your car fast and prefer looks then you can lower using stock springs but if you drive fast and want to live you must replace the springs!

I have a 458 now and won't mess with the suspension. If you have to do it though replace springs.

:) Cant tell you how much success we have had on all 458's, FF's, F12's, Speciale's and 488's with the Novitec Springs.

Can anyone confirm that you can lower a 458 with lifter option 15mm with the OEM springs, and not have any issues? I've read this entire thread and it sounds like guys (scud) have done it?

It is very possible to do, but definitely not recommended. Ride quality is diminished when you lower the car on OEM springs.

I own a 2010 Italia and a 2012 Spider. Italia lowered by previous owner looks much better than the stock height Spider.

as far as handling do not notice a difference but I am not on the track.

I preferred the lowered look , but two local dealers declined to lower the Spider, learned from experience may not go well. Not worth the risk , and cost of replacing a mis threaded shock.

From multiple experiences that have been shared here, it's absolutely a zero issues modification if done correctly (and I believe it's not rocket science to do it correctly).

I would agree but the two dealers said they would not do, both have had bad experiences.

    I just drive them

Mine is lowered w/ Novatec, had issues w/ a 21/22 setup w/ rubbing, that previous owner installed. I tossed them from the Stocks and no issue at all!

The best bet by far is utilizing the Novitec Springs. Using the factory setup is dicey.

I am considering Novitec springs on my 458 but without spacers. I am curious how the wheel gap would look lowered without spacers on OEM wheels.

It won't look right, definitely need them in the rear, like I have w/ my OEM wheels....

Agreed, the spacers are big, big help here. The gap is just too much otherwise.

I took a photo of my 458 as I was in the process of restoring it back to the stock configuration in preparation to sell. I normally ran spacers but removed them right before I had the stock suspension re-installed.

This is what my 458 looked like lowered with no spacers. You can see how tucked in the rears are. Admittedly, my car was a little too low. I've only modestly lowered my F8 Spider (10mm vs ~25mm for my 458) but still run spacers with a modest drop.

I have novitec springs on my 2013 Italia. I went to replace the front shocks as they were leaking and there is an updated part number #350401and the original shocks #260057 is no longer available the new shock is 10 mm longer which means when you put the novitec springs on the front with lift there is a 10mm gap, so it’s necessary to make a custom bushing now or switch back to stock springs. The good news is if you switch to the stock springs, your car will be 10mm lower. Image Unavailable, Please Login The shock on the bottom is the new part number 350401. The OEM part number 260057 is on top. Both spring purchase in the picture are at maximum heights, which would be the highest you could set the car and the nova tech springs when fully mounted has 10 mm gap
