Easy and effective weekend (or quarantine) project. Like so many, my fake leather straps in the trunk were trashed. So, I ordered the replacement straps from Two Redbirds Leather in Austin (https://www.tworedbirds.com/ferrari-accessories) and commenced to spend this afternoon installing the new straps. Overall, the project is about a 3/10 and all you need is basic knowledge to replace it but I cannot understand why Ferrari decided the trunk panels needed 250 bolts to hold them down. Complete overkill! Here are my before an after pics (I do not have the OEM inflator so I put my owners manuals/pouch in its place)

I also used Two Redbirds to make a set of replacement straps for my F430 toolkit. He makes a good product at a reasonable price.

Wow! Thanks for posting! Are the straps held down by screws or rivets?

Original fasteners are rivets. I also used rivets when installing my new straps. But Two Redbirds provides Chicago screws(two piece) as an alternative.

I ended up using #8 brass bolts and nuts. I did not have a riveter.

Do the straps go up like that from the factory? In my F430 they are opposite. Just curious.

Apparently on my 360 that is the way it came. Maybe 430 is just the opposite. Good observation

If one uses rivets to attach the new straps does the trunk liner have to be removed? Can one drill out the old rivets and that pop the new straps in place using the same holes?

There are metal supporting brackets on the outside of the liner, so to do it right, yes you would need to remove the liner.

Also, you have to remove the floor panel to replace the strap that is attached to it. It is actually riveted to the metal floor. So, you will have to drill out the rivets and then remove the floor panel. But, to remove the floor panel, you have to remove all the other panels. At least that is what I had to do.

I was actually referring to the straps on the side of the trunk (passenger side).

Can you drill out and replace one rivet at a time?

I suppose you could, the backing plate may twist out of location, it may not.

Removing the tub is really easy, several screws. Takes a few minutes.

I replaced all my straps. The local shoe store made me new ones out of dog leashes he had for sale. They came out great. Just get any pop rivet gun from Amazon that has a variety of pop rivets with it.
You will definitely need to pull out the panels to do it right. The backing plates will bend out of the way when you try to drill the old rivet out. You also are taking a chance that the drill will slip and you drill into whatever is behind the panels.
If you need advise on this, PM me. I just did mine 2 months ago.

I also used Two Redbirds. I have the spare tire option so I had extra straps. The replacements were perfect, using original hardware that I sent him.

Yes, you can drill out the rivets. If you don't use rivets to reinstall you run the risk of poking holes in the vapor barrier.

There are brass plates behind the trunk liner for the pop rivets to attach to so it's best to remove the liner so you can recover the brass plates for reuse.

I did both, my tire inflation kit straps (2) and the toolkit strap on my F430. Use the old straps as templates for making the new ones and reuse the hardware. You can buy high quality belt leather, pop rivets, and a rivet gun for less than new NOS OEM belts. You'll need two tools to install the rivets on the buckle-end of the straps. If interested, PM me and I'll send you photos of the tools and a source with prices.
