Running w/o the a/compressor (308 GTS)

    I never used the a/c in my GTS -- and the unit is quite old and somewhat inefficient anyway.

    I have the two belt QV set-up and thought it would work fine without the A/C compressor even mounted in there -- . save weight and more airflow around the alternator.

    Some must have done this before ( on street - not track) seems like it would be fine.

    Since I live in a cool climate and was never able to change the cam belts without removing the compressor completely, I left it off too. All weight savings are good.

    yes ran my 80 gtsi for 15 years without the AC compressor in the car.

    Thanks, wasn't interested in the hassle of installing it back and sapping power and adding weight for no really good reason, at least for now -- On the QV I don't think I need a tensioner or substitute pulley or anything.
