'79 308 body sealing question

    On my car, on the rear quarter panels just behind the doors , below the belt line(where the Pininfarina emblem mounts), on one side there is what appears to be a professionally applied bead of silicone at the bottom of the fender, where it meets the rocker panel. You can't see it unless you are way down low, looking up at the car

    But not on the other side.

    So, which is correct: no sealant or a bead of sealant on each side?

    Ah I understand. Mine doesn’t have sealant there (if I remember right; I’m not with the car just now). But then; it has been resprayed. Sorry that’s not more helpful.

    I guess since every bodies car has been resprayed, nobody knows?

    85 Euro QV. Both rear quarters are sealed in that area but almost impossible to see it but you can ever so slightly feel it if you run your finger over the crease.

    My 85 Euro QV has original paint. There is a seam of sealant.I took a photo, but I don't think it is very helpful. You really have to look close to see it. The sealant is black.
    I had never noticed it before. I had to lay on the ground to see it.
