    I’d really like an insider’s view as 2 questions puzzle me...

    1) does Centro Stile really spend time on designing those SP or don’t they just « recycle » previous designs that were not kept for mass production ?
    2) if you want your own design on your 488 why don’t you go to a renowned car designer that will probably cost you much less than going through the SP programm ?

    Please get me right : i’m absolutely not questionning the SP programm but trying to figure out how it works...

    Probably because if it's done by an independant car designer it will be worth nothing.

    Any SP car will sell for millions in any auction

    The move away from the "Transformers" aesthetic and towards a more organic, flowing aesthetic with simplified details is a welcomed change. And thankfully, in my opinion, Ferrari Design has moved away from blunt, sometimes fat noses to sharper, crisper fronts.

    The wheel design is nice but boy those wheels are big, maybe even too big; like on the F12 TRS. And the interior is a letdown. The SP cars should have custom interiors. I guess that requires another $1.5M. :)

    I'm no insider but based on the design evolution of the cars since LaFerrari and based on the design process, Ferrari Design has some reoccurring themes and likely a dominant designer who has a certain style that has carried through the line, especially seen in the SP cars.

    Ferrari Design likely comes up with a new design for each new SP car but themes do get recycled. Especially ones that got dropped in previous unrealized concepts.

    After the P3/4, Ferrari put a clamp down on independent designers (PF included) freestyling one off Ferrari's. Ferrari wanted that action so they took it over. They probably would file a Cease and Desist order on any big time one off that came onto the secondary market that wasn't sanctioned by them.

    But then again you have the option of the secondary tuners but as we know, those actually tend to reduce the value of the car, not increase it like the Ferrari SP's do.

    I guess one question is, what happens when the SPs hit the resale market? Will they maintain their ~3-4x premium over time?
