Great day in the garage on all my cars.

Popped off the ski slope on the vantage. Installed the 4 top glass switches.

    Time - 35 min tops.

Amazing improvement. Will tackle the other switches sometime soon as more needs to be disassembled.

The oem elbow pad I ordered from AstonMartinBits arrived.

I’m not really sure which direction it is supposed to orient (because it fits a little strangely) but I think it’s this way. Tight fit. Solidly built. More of a hard rubber block covered in leather and suede.

So my elbow seems ok since it doesn’t move or give very much.

    We’ll see...

Out for 100 miles with my wife in the mountains.

My Vantage with the sport pack suspension makes for a great drive, but the tight suspension makes it even less of a GT. My wife is not likely to be up for too many rides because it’s just so sporting and I think she is more about a floaty ride... we’ll see. It is a great car for sure.

Getting a bug for another F-car in the garage so I will likely be putting up this perfect Vantage for sale after I fix the dash pod leather.

My car has been listed on eBay. I’m sure I will add another Aston in the future and will extend my adventures thread.

I’m still figuring out my next slot in the garage once the Vantage moves on to its next owner.

Was looking at a 12 cyl Ferrari for a more GT car but my opt to keep in the Aston family with one of their longer wheelbase 12’s instead.

Which newer Aston 12 has adjustable suspension? Just the new Vanquish and DB11?

2012 DBS is not adjustable or is it? Any db9 have adjustable suspension?

    Thanks.

My '09 DB9 has the Sports Pack. It includes a lowered suspension. Not adjustable, but could be retro fitted to others I'm sure. What are you looking for?

I found out the following Aston’s have adaptive suspensions with adjustment with buttons from soft to hard and in between in the cars...

    Vanquish 2014+
    DBS
    DB9 2013+
Rapide (which I’m not interested in)
    DB11
    Virage 2012

I can’t imagine more bang for buck so will hold onto the Vantage and then look at other 12 cylinders later on. Maybe hit another road trip once it cools down in AZ.

I popped off the dash pod to take to an upholsterer in Scottsdale.

The leather on the right side was pulling a very small amount (See my earlier post) and I thought it would be easier to address now than wait on it. Not super noticeable but hey, we don’t really cut corners in my garage...

It was very easy to remove with clips and one screw. So I’ll post the results in a week or two.

So the funny story is that after I decided to pull the car off the market and dropped off the dash pod, a fellow f-chatter contacted me about the vantage as a purchase by his brother.

We worked out a deal and the car is prepped and ready for adventures in Florida. I will be sad to see it go as it’s such a unique car, but excited that it’s going to another car enthusiast. I’ll keep the group updated here what I end up replacing it with. Could be a 12 cyl Aston or another Ferrari. We’ll see what grabs my attention.

What did you end up selling the car for? I’m about to sell my 2007 V8 Vantage with sportshift, premium audio, and 18k miles. Values seem to have really dropped.
