I just purchased a 2017 California T and since I live in Minnesota, I have to have a front license plate.

These appear to be aftermarket solutions.

Is there a consensus on the best solution out there?

    thanks,
    shane

    ps, my first post here!

Welcome! We have a 2013 California and because we live in Illinois we need a front plate too. We purchased a license plate mount from Carbonia.com that is easy on easy off and it has worked well. If you order one make sure you get the model for the California T. Hope this helps!

are they that strict in Minnesota and Illinois? we have front plate law in Texas, but they don't enforce. I haven't had front plate in 25 years and over 400k miles. I have had a few speeding tickets too where they didn't even add the front plate citation.

Another vote for the carbonio. Oops, see you bought one already!
Post up pics of your new steed. And congrats.

Not sure how aggressive your popo are, but I leave mine in the trunk. I've been stopped once. Oops officer, I forgot, I'll fix that right away!

    Just want to share this:

I live here in Washington State, Seattle area. Front plate is required here.

When I had BMW M4, M5 & M6 with no front plate I get hassled by cops for not having a front plate, I was pulled over 3 times but I was never issued a ticket.
All warnings. How? Simple, be polite and respectful and apologize and say I will put it on once I get home :)

I've had a 360 and F430, no front plate for 6 years not once I get hassled by cops.
I think they have the utmost respect for the car that they look and admire and never notice the no front plate :)

I now have a 2016 Cali T and dont plan on putting a front plate.
Subscribed here in case I have to install one sometime in the future.

In Massachusetts, the plate is required, but I run without it. You do need to put it on the car to pass the annual state inspection, however. I used the cheap $20 tow hook mount on my California 30 but it interfered with the front parking sensor so it was not a practical option for actually using it as the car was convinced I was about to drive into a wall. When I got the California T I splurged and bought the Carbonio plate holder ... it's a little fiddly to put on the car the first time but it works fine and comes off easily. Just rather expensive for something you won't be using. I keep it in the trunk and if I'm ever stopped I figure I can tell the cop the car wash just removed it and I can't puzzle out how to put it back on ;) Might have to keep an eye out for frugal Ferrari owners who might be clandestine plate poachers

One time I had no plates on my truck at all and was let off with a warning. I was too lazy to get a holder for the front and apparently the rear was loose and the back plate fell off. so... luckily I had the front one uninstalled still and I just put it on the back and have no idea where the other plate is. Cop told me I should get new plates but I think I already told you guys, I'm too lazy for that

Earlier today we sold a mount to a Porsche owner that got pulled over for no front plate on his Pista this past weekend. He had one of our mounts in the frunk and did a quick roadside fit that appeased the cop and he got off. After his experience he bought a mount for his GT3 RS :)

Our website has recently been updated with a LOT more applications. We are adding more fitments almost daily and accept via our website fitment inquires for those cars we maybe do not have listed.
