Former Ferrari gentleman driver and Italian textile tycoon Paolo Marzotto, born on the 9th September 1930, passed away last night 26th May 2020.
The youngest of the four worldfamous Marzotto brothers, drove many times in the Mille Miglia during the 1950s. His motor racing activities also included the 1955 Le Mans 24 hours, where the tragic crash with Pierre Levegh and dozens of killed spectators happened. This tragedy in France made Paolo stop his racing activities.
Before that Paolo Marzotto also successfully raced Ferraris in the Tour of Sicily, the Tour of Calabria, the Dolomite Gold Cup and the Senigallia circuit.

RIP Paolo. His brother Giannis book Red Arrows is a fantastic work, especially the images. And it is a brilliant depiction of how brave/ foolhardy these men were. I am sure Paolo is spinning the tires in a blood red Ferrari up there in heaven as we speak.
