First off most buyers are looking for F12's that are not modified, myself included, having said that the mod's look like they are done to a high standard. If this appeals to you,you might be able to get a good deal due to the fact that many F12 buyers would not be interested. I would say you need to keep this in mind when bidding because when you go to sell this car you have a limited base of buyers.
Hello everyone! I've had an F12 in Grigio Medio for the past 3 years and like most of you, did not want to switch to the 812. I liked (and still like) the Pininfarina design of the F12 and had difficulties in liking the new design of the 812. Still, I wanted to have a change since my F12 had approx. 35'000 km on it and so, after discussions with a forum member, a started to look out for something new... So I picked up my tailor made 812 this week and after only a few kilometers driven it's early to make a longterm comparison. But for sure after the short drive I can say that the 812 is the much more agile, aggressive and modern car. I'm happy I did it even if I will miss my F12! Pictures show my old F12 and the new 812... I had a F12 before and I have a 812SF now . I think they are very similar and IMHO I don’t find a great improvement . They both are super cars . I think 812 is having shorter gear ratio on first 6 gears and I’m always with blue led on . I prefer longer gear ratio as in a F12 . Anyway they are both fantastic
True, still I find the gearbox is much quicker than in the F12. Again, I've only driven 200 kilometers so far...
I have an incoming 812 and have been without an F12 for ~3 years now. I think I will eventually find a way to add an F12 to be the 812’s buddy. I think they are both amazing and one needs both.
I've heard the rear steering of the 812 makes it feel like a smaller car. Is that what you are getting at there when you say it's more agile or is there more to it than that do you think? Ray
Yes exactly, the rear steering makes it feel as if the car is smaller and more agile, especially in sharp turns.
Assuming the F12 strengths are aligned with one’s preferences, there’s so much to love! If you are in this categories and finding yourself not able to love the F12, I suspect it’s likely an indication of challenges in other areas of life.
After driving my F12 for a couple weeks I am loving it. However, I am glad I kept my 458. They are 2 completely different cars. Depending on what you are going for, would be which one to pick to own or better yet have both. When people ask what I like better its like picking which child you like better. They are both completely different cars. I think the 458 is going to be a staple in the history of Ferrari.
F12 owners: how much of the edginess/scariness is down to Pirelli Pzero 4 tyres? Compared to PS4S the PZ4 is apparently less progressive in breakaway, I've heard much improvement in confidence with switching to PS4S. Thoughts?
