this normaly can never be possible. but may be you edged the flange from the shaft a little. happens to me also sometimes. so try to put in this 1 screw until nearly tighten. then you can turn the shaft a little around this screw and all the other holes then are matching. normaly it does not matter how you put them in. the holes are all 60 ° apart.
I’m an idiot and spending 12 hours wrenching straight and not eating took its toll. Ready for it? Don’t laugh too hard.... The wheel turned because no half shaft was installed. All my dumbass had to do was turn the wheel to asking them and BAM!
Car is down on 4 wheels. I just need to do clutch tomorrow. I’m confused on assembly of the clutch so I’ll tackle it tomorrow. Image Unavailable, Please Login
For the clutch is this the order they get installed in? 1 being the first mounted to the flywheel. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I put in the white silicone. Also did a small coach of silicon on back cover. Couldn’t have done it without ya. You helped me from day one. If we ever meet dinner on me.
no 1 and 3 are changeable, they are the same, only pay attention what is front and what is rear- but when you see it things go logic don´t forget the spacers under the no 2. it needs 3 pieces discs alignment: put all togehter that you just could turn the discs. then put the clutch housing on. as long as the discs can rotate free you can do this, a little playing. when then the housing goes nearly complete in you may fasten the 6 nuts. not until fini9shed, only about 1 half turn, then the next , and so on by rotating the flywheel. an dthis so long until they are tight. remove the housing again, fasten again those 6 nuts, put some grease on the shaft and the front of the shaft what goes into the liopt bearing an dput the housing on again. in this community here also other would help - but just now I´m still stranded in thailand ( covid 19 ) and so have much time. happy to help you. but you also have great knowledge an fknow how to use a tool and know what you do. not everyone will be so good and sometime severy help is useless then. then I will stop eating before we will meet 7 days to be really hungry
No. 1 has writing that says Flywheel side, I’m assuming that side faces the flywheel. No. 3 will also point the same way? I’m hoping I can help others. You made it easy giving me step by steps!
When you wake up hopefully she’s running!! Got a long bike ride in the AM so I won’t be starting till 1pm pacific time.
Put a little lockite 518 on that case ..that is a common place to leak Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Mother F ing gosh dangit dang nabit son of a wild turkey!! Appears the mechanic who put the drain plug in last cross threaded it! As I removed it out came threads with it. Why oh why didn’t I remove this plug when I had everything apart....... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’m cleaning the threads left and I bought new drain plugs. I’m gonna fill it and test for leaks. If it leaks I gotta year it all back apart.
Bell housing removed. Engine mounts removed. Engine jacked up and working on repairing threads. Doesn’t look good. I’m sourcing a new back cover.
Jamie This seems to happen ..look at this thread at around post 539 and further down at 542 543 Retapped and longer plug https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/94-512tr-66-000-mile-major.606893/&share_tid=606893&share_fid=9080&share_type=t&link_source=app Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Comment? If you had done your research you would have seen on my "For sale" thread, that the gear oil change was part of the major service. The bill is listed right there. Perhaps you should mention this to Jamie...oh wait, he knows this...he has all the invoices. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Jamie, isn't there a sort of "time-cert" rethread application for this? All drain plugs, I put copper anti seize, so this doesn't happen. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
ugh this situation just keeps getting worse. Thank goodness the owner is as patient and talented as he is. If another fchat member bought this with less skills and required a tech to expose these issues it would be a blood bath.
I don’t blame you for anything FYI lol. Crap happens. Things go south. Life moves on. Yes, I just don’t like that repair. To do it right I would remove cover and at that point I’d just replace it. I found a NOS one for a very reasonable price on eBay. It’ll be here next week. For now I should have the plug sorted enough to test drive. I plan on driving 50 miles and draining fluid and screening it. Then driving it another 100 and draining oil and screening it. If no metal flakes show up then I’ll be happy. Car is ready, need to bleed clutch just need a helping hand. Oh and I am 1 QUARTof redline short of starting her up. I did the 9l to gallon conversion wrong lol. For now she sits until my 10g order of redline shows up. Image Unavailable, Please Login
