New Breitling Top Time 1967, a throwback to the geiger-counter watch seen in THUNDERBALL. This is the first Breitling I've had since selling my Superocean a decade back...it's nice to see what the brand is doing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, this is the first series (ref 6239) of the Paul Newman Daytona and the same color variation that Paul Newman wore. Interesting history. Paul Newman’s watch was gifted to him by his wife/actress Joanne Woodward and she engraved the case back “Drive Carefully Me”. Mr.Newman appeared in a number of popular Italian magazines sporting his new Rolex. And since then, the exotic dial Daytona was referred to as the Paul Newman. Italy was and still remains one of the top places for vintage watch collections. Interesting when the Paul Newman was first offered for sale at Rolex dealers in the late 60s, they had a difficult time selling them! In 2017, Paul Newman’s watch sold at auction for $17.8M.

Love it !! Hey - just saw your from Brainerd. Who's your AD - Bitzens in St. Cloud is no longer selling Rolex. My home is in Crosslake - I'll look for your watch at Moonlight Bay or the wharf MDS
New addition for me this week. Rare, first series. A small number of these turned from white to cream over time. Image Unavailable, Please Login Color really changes with the light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep, I've recognized your location, hangouts, and boats And figured there might be a long shot that we would cross paths.. I used to frequent Moonlight and the Wharf in the past. Not so much anymore, mainly because my former wife no longer owns a business in Crosslake. I now tend to hang in the Gull Lake area (Zorbaz, Bar Harbor, and Cowboys). I have been fortunate to obtain my Rolexes from either R.F. Moeller or Wixon's.
Hmmm , just got my call this morning from the AD for the exact watch, I'll be going to pick it up in a day or 2...Can't wait !
It’s my favorite daily wear watch. Even with a couple of dozen watches I still gravitate to the platinum Daytona over all others, and now when I wear a gold Daytona or vintage stainless I miss the weightiness of the Platona. They’re great...
Were you on a waiting list for this model? Or are you taking an opportunity to pick up a great piece? I decided on adding this model (126660) to my collection last Fall, put myself on the list in February, and was fortunate to fulfill the request this past week.
I very much appreciate this watch, and would most likely put that very high on the list for my next Rolex. Enjoy, very beautiful.
One of my (many) regrets, selling the 39mm. Perfect size for the RO, enjoy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
