355 How to mount the front hold release lever ??

    Getting the lever mounted inside...with the cable already attached...next to impossible!! Does the cables need to be deattached in the front compartment? Clues appreciated;-)

    Never done it buy my guess is that is exactly right, mount lever run cable, attach the release is typical for about any cable release system. Sam issue with the engine lid release. Provably need to remove the trunk liners for access as well.

    Loosen the retaining nuts on the front latches to be able to pull the cable back and once u install the release then use pliers to tighten the cable then tighten the nuts in the latch itself

    If the cable is in situ already and you just want to replace the lever box. If it is the same as the rear boot release. you can hacksaw where the cable fits the release body to remove without taking cable out completely. do the same with the replacement and just refit the old cable. Hope this helps.
