Judging by this video of the car being driven in NYC along side a Bugatti, not at all surprised. Sad as hell. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRUUC0am6zQ]Riding in the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport "Pur Blanc" - YouTube[/ame]
Interesting to see if these reckless displays posted everywhere of this F50 and Bug do not lead to charges. Ah how my perspective changes as I get older. Certainly glad there was no camera recorder and youtube in the early days of the French Quarter Classic.
johnhoughtaling yeah but it's NOLA darlin' !!! do you think Kenny Allen of Allen Body Shop in Sorrento, LA could fix it? familiar with him? very nice man who did some work for me. Kenny told me he fixed a front nose of a F50 from a possum(?) impact on hwy & has an extra new front nose 1 of 2 in the country at the time (few yrs ago)... seemed to make sense to me "someone is gonna need it at some point." Prices may have gone up, but I think it was $15-20k. Maybe someone will see this and contact him if they get this car. Love to catch a French Quarter Classic- #1 reason to own a ferrari in LA right?!
I think 'Fast n' Loud' learned their lesson trying to fix the first one. If the figures I have seen are correct they spent a combined $700K on the damaged car plus repairs and didn't come close to restoring the full value a car like that should have (even being a story-car) with their Franken-fix. >8^) ER
+1 ^ It was a TV show for sure - IMO they may have a "shop", but all they were really doing was stroking checks.
Interesting If the Shop fixes F50 which gets a new nose and keeps a salvageable part that is worth 15-20k or more, I would be curious to ask if he's selling it for the owner, or whether he made a deal with the owner to keep such a valuable part. Otherwise the hood is arguably not the property of the shop. As an aside, I have wonderful memories of this car in far better hands. It was used and admired. It was present at 4 of the 8 FQC events. Used to shoot flames a foot long on downshifts. As for the FQC, the 8th one is in two weeks!
