Just doing my engine out maintenance and was wondering what the consensus was on tack welding the "guide" fences on the cam and main drive cogs. Should they all get tack welded to prevent the shield from coming loose ? Thanks for your comments, JGW

Why not? The problem does exist and has caused grief for others. Just make sure it is done well and does not run through to the pulley side.

348 absolutely the lower pully for sure as it is the main issue not so much the cam ones. 355 much less an issueif at all, they are put together differently with different design.
