Hey guys The flywheel on my 308 has the normal 7degree BTC and PM1-4 TDC mark, however, there is a 3 degree ATC stamping. What is it used for? Just curious. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well that attachment didn't do what I thought it would. Will try and attache the actual picture Barry Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would think the 3 degree mark is the next one (marked 3 degrees). (Which is used for timing advance/retard)
1978 US version 308 have a stock 1000 RPM idle timing specification of 3 deg ATDC (when operating on the R2 points).
If you have the 150/78 OM for '78-'79 North American (a.k.a. US) version 308 B/S, see pages 14 and 73-77.
Steve I see it in the owners manual. I was checkted my workshop manual, which is for a Carbed 308 gt4, an it does say basic timing is 3 - 2 ATDC @ 1000 +\- 200 rpm and actually the illustration of the flywheel does show the 3 degree ATDC. The illustration I was looking at in my notes from the web doesn't have the 3 degree indicator and it has a 6 degree BTDC mark not 7. Must be from a different year, probably GTSI. My bad. Barry
