1/2 Boxer trim was an option?

Car looks nice. However, it's actually a Model Year 1983.

The earlier Model Year 1984 BB 512i I know of is #49259 (3 January 1984),

    Good day All,

Chassis 47015 is now on BaT:

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1984-ferrari-512-bbi-18/

It looks like some paint correction issues were done on the lower front/rear skirts, as in 2020 they were black and now they are red which now creates consistency regarding the trim (e.g. no Boxer trim now)>

    Cheers,

    Sam

Model year is not necessarily same as year manufactured. I was taught by a well-versed F-chatter to identify various features on later 512BB's. Like the 7-band equalizer and the Testarossa steering wheel and a few other things.

I think it still is a nice car - or is it damaged already?

    Hello there,

i.m.h.o......I wouldn't bother to change and I wouldn't pay more for those feature updates. I like the model variations and appreciate them for what they are. To me they are all cool! ie the early 308 has a deck prop rod for the rear deck, the later ones have hydraulic struts. I know the Boxer front grill and passing flasher lights have changed over the years. To me, one isn't better than the other, just different, and I'm proud and excited to own either.

I spoke with Paul Newman regarding model changes, and he helped me with some of the differences. There was something about the Bosch vacuum controlled fuel pressure regulator is different and one more item in my engine bay, but I don't recall what it was. There's a mid-year item on the '84 that I'm aware of and it's the seat rail covers.

BTW- here's where the model year matters to me. The books should include a Ferrari Service Center book, and these have years on them, so I was missing mine and wanted to get the correct one. As much as I love these cars, I've never looked at a Boxer at car events etc and thought, 'Wow! that's beautiful XXXX year car.'
