I'd love to hear your reactions to this: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/ferrari-512-bbi-tool-kit/ Matt
I wonder why people sell cars without the tool kit, owners manual, 2nd set of keys, etc. that were obviously in their possession when they owned the car?
Books and tools frequently disappear when a car is being serviced or detailed. Many dealers in the secondary market lift the manual sets and toolkits (even the spare tire) from every car that passes through their hands.
I thought Newman said BBi pliers are blue handle, but I'm not sure. Why would a BBi tool roll have a carb adjustment tool. I had tools disappear, I'm quite certain, after a major at a Ferrari authorized dealer. Did not notice until a year later.
When I was in college I worked for a Ford dealer for a while. Nearly every car we took in trade had at least 2 keys and sometimes 3. The used car managers always chucked all but one key in the trash. They had no interest in keeping up with spares, and if it was a Ford product then throwing away the keys was a way to generate a key sale when the car sold again. Always bugged the hell out of me.
I'm one of these people that end up selling a car in the past and find items that belong to the car, years later. My reason is: when I get a car, I usually take the items out for what ever reason. Service, Space, Detailing, Tires... Usually procrastination is the reason for them not going back.
The toolkit appears to be missing its zipped toolkit bag (of the same colour as the seats of the car). Will this bag come up on the next BaT bid?
