Due to cabin fever with COVID 19, here’s a photo from my files. No (c) mentioned on photo. It’s first time out for Chris Kerrison at Goodwood on 23rd April 1962 in his newly painted silver berlinetta, the ex Moss/Rob Walker ‘61 TT winner, which was held over for Stirling Moss, just in case his new GTO (#3505) didn't arrive. But it did and Stirling practiced (no one has ever produced a photo of Stirling in that GTO). Stirling later had his career ending crash the following day so didn’t compete and Chris Kerrison finished 2nd GT in the Sussex Trophy. The SWB was sold to Chris for the princely sum of 4,750,000 lire. He later practised the car at Silverstone either buzzing the engine/or the engine failing, so Ferrari eventually agreed to rebuild the engine FOC if the car was trailered to Maranello. It was, and Chris’s mate Rupert smuggled his very willowy, South African girlfriend through Italian Customs in the boot of a ‘61 SEFAC Hot Rod en route to the factory. But that’s a story for another day.

Some nice footage of 2563gt, which I guess is for sale... There's also a nice photoshoot of this car by Stephan Bauer on the Auxietre Schmidt website, here: https://www.auxietreschmidt.com/cars/1961-ferrari-250-gt-swb-berlinetta-by-scaglietti-2/
I'm enjoying all the SWB photos and comments. Helps pass the time while we are sheltering in place. Alan Boe
