I had my favorite leather repair guy, Mike Starr, over yesterday to fix a small nick in the seat side trim that I missed having him repair when I first got the car. Mike suggested that I get the horses on my seats dyed red to match the car and the seat accent thread. He said he does it for both the Ferrari and Maserati dealers for customers, while time consuming really makes the seats pop. I think it came out amazing and up close looks better than the stitched one from the factory that looks like something that was done in one of the mall kiosk that make custom hats.

Yes, completely by hand, he said red takes a lot of coats to get it right. The work really looks like the kind of details you see on a very high end bag or wallet. Mike is really an artist.

For those who asked the cost, $200 per seat so $400 total not counting the other leather repair work I had him over to do.

It should It's the same dye used for the rest of the seat. He said he has been doing them for years and never had a problem with it wearing off.

I'm sure it will last. If you think about it you almost never touch your head to the headrest. Nice job.

When I first read the thread, I didn't have my glasses on, and it looked like "Half my horses dyed yesterday." :D

    Wow. Looks amazing.

He also dyed the red thread on the seats too?!?!

I didn’t know that was even possible.

That looks really good! I have tan seats. Wonder if black would be a good color for mine.

Can one remove the headrests and send them to him?

Thats beautiful work, and frankly not a bad price considering it probably took a while to get it right. Very cool.
