I hope he does become a card carrying tifosi and joins us here.

It was probably 25 years ago that I last saw Doug.

A very clean design considering some of the overwrought 1950's design efforts that seemed to be promoting massive surface disruptions.
Corvette steering wheel and red wheel wells plus the fin and the judicious use of premium metal trim. Even the interior seems to be a catalogue of design restraint...
    Great find, thanks!

    Thank you!
That car was posted a couple years ago on here and I've looked for it several times with no luck.

My dad had a very, very well used 1936 Pontiac 2 door sedan when I was very little.
Same body, different grille and 'three on the floor'. Black.

I liked how the one guy talked of the importance of the 3D clay - able to walk around and see it in all views from all the angles. High, low, up close, far away, feel the surface - all to ensure that the form is correct/fully resolved from every possible viewpoint.

This is from 2015, but I think it still resonates today.

Tomorrow night they debut the new version.

Pick-up truck design isn't usually a hot topic amongst non designer types. Other than the Tesla Cyber Truck, but that's a whole 'nuther story.
But when the Ford Motor Company redesigns their 'franchise' , the F-150, it's a big deal. Trust me. It's a very big deal. The F-150 IS the FoMoCo regarding making money, so they take it very seriously.
Here the designers briefly address the design.

In following Ram's (successful) trend to soften its truck, I think Ford has taken a wrong direction with the front of the new 150. The crisper angularity they've been using for the last 10 years or so, exudes a stronger, clearer, more focused, more "workman-like" message.

    They've turned a chisel into a marshmallow...

Insightful observation. There has been persistent thinking that a truck is indeed a tool. Something that gets used on the job, etc. Only in the last 15 or so years have the general population embraced the pick-up as an every day driver. So the design thinking was if it is indeed a tool, then its look should be reflected in its function and vice versa. Chev, GMC had this design skirmish at various times over their long competitive history. Suddenly, Dodge finally got their act together in the '90's with the Dodge Ram. That had a front end that mimicked large trucks but had a very soft body design. So now you have 3 1/2 competitors duking it out for supremacy.
It's always a dilemma as to how 'friendly' a truck design should be. The Tesla Cyber Truck just threw that playbook into the shredder. But will that attract mainstream America? No one knows just yet. Is the new Ford too soft & friendly? We'll soon find out. I personally believe Ram walked away from one of the strongest looking front ends on the road. Now it would appear they've done a safe, 'me too' front end to try to appeal to a larger audience.
    Never a dull moment.

I think my '03 RAM 1500 QuadCab 4x4 Sport was the greatest looking pickup ever. Very sleek, but no poser with the 4" Rancho lift and ARE tonneau.
Got compliments on that rig until literally the day I sold it in 2013. Perfectly reliable, and I got, "That thing got a HEMI in it?" at stoplights constantly. :)

When that Ram was first introduced I thought it was one of the coolest looking pick-ups ever. They really created a ‘look’ that stood the test of time.
