That's my guess. The question will be is the Convertible top "an option". I think it will boil down to the dealer to honor older pricing or not if you put a deposit down for a 2020 and ended up with a 2021. Some may, some won't. Dealers didn't over sell their allocations. Their allocations got cut. Its not their fault and certainly not the fault of those who put down deposits. I already think some options are pretty pricey for a Vette. Like the body painted grills. $1000 to paint them in body color instead of clear metallic? And $400 for colored seat belts seems pretty outrageous. I don't mind them making a profit but its a lot for when you consider what you get for the entire base car.
Form letters going out to those who submitted an order through a dealer but won't be made in the 2020 MY. It looks like anyone who placed and order and deposit but didn't get beyond 11oo status (aka GM accepted the order from the dealer) has to go through the entire process AGAIN and reorder the car through the dealer. Seems rather ridiculous to me. The letter: Thank you for your patience with our response! We are sorry to inform you but due to unforeseen circumstances in 2019 and 2020, Corvette production will be less than originally planned. Any MY20 Corvette preliminary orders at event code 1100 will not be produced and will need to be re-submitted as a MY21 order. Ordering for MY21 will begin on Thursday, July 30. Please schedule time with your dealer to place an order at that time. As a reminder, the base price for the 2021 model year Corvette coupe and convertible will remain the same as the 2020 model. We apologize for any inconvenience, but your dealership will be the best resource for information if you have any additional questions. Thank you, Chevrolet Corvette Concierge
wow. that seems like a lazy solution and runs the risk of people deciding to bail. I guess the head office is just kicking the can down the road and presuming the dealers will do the heavy lifting to convert the orders. Upon reflection, I'm not surprised.
That is too bad. I gave up on the C8 a while ago. I still will get one but 90% chance won't bother until they are easily available and desperate to sell them. I think Jeff is one of the lucky guys who got a perfect early delivery white C8.
The full 'monochromatic' look is pretty cool IMO AMG from the '80's! The one thing that stands out is these owners aren't afraid to customize/alter their cars. Bravo. Although the results can be mixed at times. Cleans up nice with scrubbing all the gingerbread off. However, that wing still has to go. The two black rivets holding the horizontal section of the wing makes it look like that component came from the JDM Certified Ricer Store.
post 556 the wing on Jeff's car looks right in pictures and in person. It also is functional unlike so many streetcar wings.
Everyone has their opinion and the only one that matters is the owner of each car. I cannot imagine not having my wing as its functional and serves the purpose I intend to use it for on my track days and I think it looks great. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That’s fair. You’ve got a great looking car, and as you said, to each their own. I’m just not a fan of the rear spoiler but that takes nothing away from your great looking car
Thanks. I am not taking anything away from your opinion, everyone has what they like and if you like the clean no spoiler look then build it your way and enjoy it
