    Hi,

A valet in Los Angeles backed an Escalade into my F12. My insurance company (State Farm) is being unreasonable. Odd given that the valet companies insurance (Travelers) should be the ones on the hook. Can anyone recommend an attorney who i9snused to dealing with insurance companies in such cases?

    Thanks,

    Christopher

He is not local to you, but you should speak with John Draneas in Oregon. He is an attorney with a strong interest and practice in collector car issues. He writes a monthly column for "Sports Car Market" magazine addressing multiple legal issues associated with collector cars including diminished value. I have communicated with him a couple of times. He has always been helpful. He may have a referral to someone in your local area if he doesn't want to become too involved, or if you prefer someone local. Send an email message to <[email protected]> or call 503-496-5500. (I have no personal or financial connection to John.) Good luck!

Just out of curiosity, how is your insurer being unreasonable?

It is interesting how state laws vary regarding auto insurance. In Massachusetts you would have no problem. Your insurance company would pay for all repairs and then collect from the at fault person's insurance.

    I thought I posted a reply  but I don't see
So pardon if this is redundant, but a valet in Canada hit my F12 last year. They owned responsibility right away (good thing) and my insurance, usaa , took care of claim without detriment to me. Plus finally just received DV check that an independent claims firm got me.

I think there are some posts here about it

    Good luck

I would contact Rich Williamson. He is in the area and he is a car guy (collects Porsches) and is a great litigator (have referred people to him in the past with good results):
