Hi! After lurking around in here during my ”hunt" I bought a 612 as my first Ferrari with 20K miles on it last Friday. Only had the chance to drive it back home that day, but first impressions are, what a great "family" car. It had a major service done 2500 miles ago. joints back and front, flywheel, clutch, brakes, tires and alot of other stuff. A $17K bill. Next year it’s time for timing belt replacements according to the book, (5 years) that one is on me. On the PPI, inspection of the the engine compartment show minor sweating close to the camshaft seal. Is it something to be worried about.? The rest was clean and in very good condition. 2% wear on the clutch. Otherwise in the interior, the leather has 2-3 places where the Coloring is slightly off. Don’t know why. It’s a 2006 model with 2 owners before me. Posting a few pics from a test drive. Very nice, congrats. The cam seals on the 575M and 612 (not the 550) can be changed without removing the cams, so that is something you can have done when you do the 5 year cambelt change.
Ty all..! Last 6 VIN: 148273 Tazandjan: thanks for the info, will take care of that next year Also, does anyone know if there’s a solution/mod for streaming music on the 612. Or in what thread I can find info about that?
its very easy , use FM transmitter connected to your phone bluetooth im using this one it for my 2005 very nice sound. https://www.amazon.com/SmartCharge-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-Dedicated/dp/B07GJ7DHMP/ref=asc_df_B07GJ7DHMP/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312087662844&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6145537961668897044&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031807&hvtargid=pla-568273450310&psc=1
Slightly nicer solutions for streaming music than an FM transmitter! You can use the CD changer input with one of these to stream bluetooth. Even allows you to control the tracks from your stereo. https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/392048354723?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=392048354723&targetid=909180616022&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1007293&poi=&campaignid=10204071741&mkgroupid=105678537727&rlsatarget=aud-629407027145la-909180616022&abcId=1145987&merchantid=9380344&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIi__5iKmt6gIVB6WyCh3DXQesEAQYASABEgJW-PD_BwE Or for even more simplicity, you can use one of these to make your stereo into a bluetooth speaker. Again, uses the CD changer input and power to work, and appears as a bluetooth speaker on your phone. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Radio-bluetooth-Adapter-Aux-in-Cable-For-Iphone-iPod-Mp3-Porsche-Becker/223646375813?hash=item34125cdf85:g:nZYAAOSwtcRb98--
Great looking car, I am sure you will enjoy it. Curious how long the hunt took? This seems like a good time to pull the trigger on that special first 1sr Ferrari.
Nice, your car is slighlty newer as mine. Color is hard to see, but it does look great. Grigio ferro? Grigio scuro? Is it a HGTS/HGTC?
Ty... Was basically looking for a sports car I can enjoy and Ferrari wasn’t even on my list. Then I borrowed a F430 for 2 weeks and I was sold. Have driven a couple of them the last years. 360, 458 and a 488. Always wanted a 911, but after that borrow the 911 was gone from the list. 4 F612’s for for sale on my market and this one looked most clean. And the price wasn’t bad either. Much lower then the 911’s I had an eye on.
According to the add, it’s a Giorgio silverstone, and no HGTS/HGTC. So basically a base model? But I’m amazed how good the handling is and the engine/transmission is just wow. I don’t think it’s "ugly" at all, as some people say and that there is only around 3000 produced is also cool. It’s not like u see a 612 passing by every day like a Porsche 911.
Damn! I thought Grigio Silverstone was much darker. On the pictures I see quiet a few options, so not really a base model! Yellow rev counter, colored aluminium dash, colored piping, 19" rims, parking sensors front. And I think (because you're Swedish) heated front seats. The 612 ages very well. When it was introduced I called it ugly, but that changed 2,5 years ago. I was looking for a F430 and there was a 612 in the showroom aswell. (grigio silverstone!) I didn't wanted the F430 anymore. I started looking for the best 612 I could find and I am very happy I bought mine in May 2018.
I also just recently bought a 612. It’s a 2007 model HGTC. I have the bose infotainment system but also in this streaming is unfortunately not possible. There is a usb plug just at right bottom corner but it seems not to work to connect an iphone. I don’t have the separate handbook for the bose system and could also not find on internet. Maybe one of you guys have some advice how pimp with a simple workaround to enable streaming via mi mobile phone. Maybe I am wrong, but I think the USB input is only for USB sticks. It probably will not recognise a telephone
You are probably right. There is a music upload function in the system. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The car on those wheels looks so good. I was promised 2 sets of keys during my buy, but the seller can’t find the second key. They said that I can swing by my closest Ferrari dealer only 10 min from me and order new keys. On their expense. I will ask the about Bluetooth streaming on the 612 just to get some more info. @borgensville Posted some solutions. The second one looks very easy but wonder how good sound quality is with that. I don’t want some Chinese 12volt transmitter thing that sticks out and looks cheap af.
yeah, near Malmö. Wonder how many F612 there are on Swedish plates. To get a new key was a bit of a procedure, with paperwork to get it ordered. After a closer look at the interior during a drive yesterday, I noticed that the leather is not in its best shape. Mostly dirty. Not a sticky button feeling in the front, but the ashtray in the backseat is really bad. Even fingers get black. How do you gentlemen take care of the leather and interior? Also I’m wondering if you always have the battery charger plugged in when the car is parked? Sorry for all the questions I’m new in the club and appreciate every answer. Have a good Saturday all!
@hooliganista @Yzerman : In my 612 OTO (with Bose Infotainment too), I use the Ipod Connexion in the glovebox with that: https://www.amazon.com/Bovee-Wireless-Bluetooth-Interface-Integration/dp/B00B52LLJ6/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1 Bovee 1000. Works like a charm with my iPhone 7. My iPhone has a double bluetooth connection: one with the Bose system (for phone calls), one with the Bovee 1000 for the audio streaming (Spotify).
