I see on the owners manual where the engine serial number is about located but I have just a couple questions. Will I need to put it on a hydraulic lift and take off the bottom to see it? Can it be seen from above? I cant seem to see it by just looking from above. Will I need an extended camera? If I need to take off the bottom, do I need any special tools? Anyway, sorry for the barrage of questions!
As far as I remember, you can see it just looking down into the engine bay. At least on the 360 I believe that was the case. I would think on the 458 it would be a similar situation. As I remember, the manual makes it look a little worse than it actually is, location wise. This link might help: https://www.ricambiamerica.com/where-is-my-assembly-number/ Oh actually that's assembly #, sorry. Nevertheless, I seem to remember it's visible from looking down into the engine compartment with a flashlight. I might be wrong. Ray
I dug this up out of the service manual. It appears to be located near where the motor bolts to the gearbox housing, from what I can tell. Ray Image Unavailable, Please Login
An update for those interested. It was necessary to put it up on a lift but then it was very easy to remove the access point and see it.
