    WOW !!!

Big Pcar fan here. I have six - 911s and one cayman. That is one great looking car - but I have never had the pleasure of driving one.
I am afraid if I drive one, I will buy one !!!

Still remember my 928S4 I bought new in '87 as the car that made the biggest and best impression on me of any other car before or after.
That includes virtually all regular production Ferraris since 2007 (I've been getting new).
I will never forget that feeling of overwhelming pleasure, satisfaction of finally getting that car, sitting inside for a long time without even starting it, just taking it all in, the luxury of high quality interior, futuristic dashboard and wondrous instrument cluster adjustable together with steering wheel so it never covers the gauges.
Wonderful car and nothing ever since felt the same, not any Porsche, MB or anything Italian or British made.

    Thanks for the kind words.
A GTS manual is the Porsche equivalent of a 550 Maranello , and yes, if you try this one, you will want to buy it and drive it

I have had similar feelings, and also have an S4. I put 250k miles on it as it was my daily driver for a long time.

That is a special car for me too and more sentimental now as I have other cars. I’ve taken it all over the place, and have lots of really great memories!

The GTS was something I always wanted and was able to buy. Now I’m after another car and the GTS is the one that’s going to be passed to a new caretaker. The S4 will stay for the memories and sentimental reasons. I just couldn’t bring myself to part with it.

I’ve had at least one 928 in the stable for the past 40 years, all with 5 speed trannys. This my 1985 928S, a German model imported new by my family’s dealership, which we then federalized. It has many features not available on 1985 USA spec models, like ABS and 30-40 more hp. It's been a keeper!

Interesting. I didn't know that the wheels from a 2002 911 would fit a 928 but they look good on the car.

These are from a cup car and are built to 10” wide in front, and if I remember correctly, the cup cars run 9” in front. All Porsche have 5 X 130 pcd so the only clearance to be concerned about are the fender lip, brake caliper clearance and the centerline’s effect on scrub radius.

There can be extra negative offset gained by using outside mounting vs inside mounting face centers.

Thanks for the kind words about the looks, I thought they were the cat’s meow when I did it many years ago.

I sold mine because of electrical gremlins but I still miss it.

Sorry to hear you had gremlins. While I’ve experienced a niggle here and there, nothing significant on the ones I’ve owned.

Just had a customer visit for almost an hour with his 928. Can't remember which year his is, but believe a '79 or '80 non-S.

Still looks amazing in guards red over tan, and he is always more than happy to leave my parking lot with a bit of flourish. ;)

TOTALLY makes me miss my '87 S4, or even my '83 euro S. :(

My Dad bought a 1985 S brand new and an 1987 S4 from new. My brother loves 928's, he has had about 30 over the years. Including a GTS, but his was automatic. He has a mechanic that specializes in 928's. I was there with my brother. Of the six 928's in the shop, my brother once owned 5 of them. The mechanic even owns an S4 my brother sold him.

    They’re awesome cars

Maybe your brother should get a manual GTS as a Covid summer toy

He's currently looking at a 87 S4 manual. He says the manual GTS is selling for too big of a premium.

    Understandable

It was the flagship Porsche until they made the 993 turbo
