I am thinking about either doing epoxy on my garage floor or interlocking garage tiles‎.

I would love to see what some of you guys have in your garage as inspiration on what I can do with mine.

One you clean/prep the floor, let dry, you simply use a standard 9” paint roller. Paint a 10ft x 10ft square, sprinkle the chips and repeat till finished.

This is mine. I had the choice of resin or tiles and went for tiles as I liked the checkerboard effect...

That's the direction I want to go but the wife is not a fan. I need to do some more convincing.

I am serious about those two garage threads. Anyone planning a garage should go through them for ideas.

I was going to do the garage tiles, but heard about the dust that collects underneath. I ended up doing the DIY epoxy floors. I love the results. However, the results are all in the prep. I spent 2 days sanding and cleaning the floors, then etching them with acid. I did two coats over several days with proper cure in between. Also I waited several days before parking the cars on the floor.

It’s really easy to put down, just spend the time on the prep otherwise epoxy could lift or chip over time.

I did the interlocking tiles, wish I hadn't.
They expand/contract so never look quite flat when used on a large area. They stain and mark fairly easily.
I had ceramic tiles in my last garage and once the rest of the house is finished I'll redo the garage with hard tiles again.

Very cool. Reminds me of the old B&W photos my mom showed me of the car she learned to drive in.
Think she said it was a '57 Bel Air. Thanks for sharing...T

I can’t help you with that, I was really close to doing my garage with race deck interlocking tiles, but there seems to be a lot of problems with them at the point where you enter the garage and all brands seem to leak under the tiles.

So even though I could have gotten the tiles free, it just seems like a lot of hassle.

I actually ended up doing an epoxy on ours that turned out nice. My wife surprised me and did it for my birthday. Super easy to clean up and keep looking good.
