You assumed right. Eventually those wire wheels are quite rare today because many didn't like them for the reason you explained and because they looked too "old fashion" and inappropriate on a Supersport. So Borrani proposed the drilled bimetal.

Does anyone happen to know how many 2.5 3C Touring Coupes were made in total?

Can't seem to Google my way into the answer....

My chart says there were the following production numbers for Touring-bodied Flaminia Coupes:

Type 824.00 (2.5 litre with single carb) 868 units
Type 824.10 (2.5 litre with triple carbs) 682 units
Type 826.138 (2.8 litre with triple carbs) 168 units

Total number of Flaminias bodied by Touring (all types): 2748

    Thanks Jeff!

Finally tracked down that 2.5 3C number late last night too, on a German website. Focused on 824.10's, hope to buy one

Anyone have a picture of the single 3 barrel carb?
I've heard about them. Don't know for sure what make they are.
I like the idea of using it on one of my Flamiinia's.

Found out (from Mike Kristick) that the carb is a Solex C35 P3-1 for the 2.5's
    and a C35 P31/2 for the 2.8's.
    Still no pics.

I have a full exploded view of the Solex 3-barrel C35 P3 carburetor from the Flaminia Parts Manual, Tav.20, if you want to see details.

There is an engine picture in the Flaminia Coupe 3B brochure that shows the carburetor, not in great detail. I think I have a few other pix.

From the Autocar road test of the 3B: "There was a tendancy to spit back through the big triple barrel Solex carburetor, and for a plug or two to wet if the car was pottered about too much when still cold. The accelerator pump on the carburetor seemed to be set rather too rich; this had the effect of producing a double jerk when the throttle was opened suddenly."

I'm looking into adapting one of my non solex 911 3 barrel carbs to my Flaminia, which,
besides being the bird in hand, it also affords bringing it up from 35mm to 40 mm chokes.
I'm going to build one of my engines up to around 140 hp and another to over 160 and see how it goes.
The 40mm carb will help a lot with the 160+ engine.
