I will say this: Checo will have his share of teams interested. Perhaps none with quite the car of the Tracing Point Bubblegum Benz, but I find it hard to imagine that he won't be snaffled up, and quickly.

I don't think so. Checo will be headed down grid into F1 obscurity.

Stroll will dump Perez without a second thought ala Ocon. Lance is golden.

AT least keep things under wrap and announce it later in the season. This is really a weird situation now imagine if last weekend, the contact was the way round. The media, fans, armchair experts would have blasted Vettel and accused him of sabotaging Ferrari and shaarl.

It basically means, Vettel cannot afford to make any mistakes now

He made too many has Vettel. Going to Racing Clone is not a victory at all. He had his time with 2 major teams and won titles. He was fired for his mistakes. Quite simple. He took a car that could win and lost.

I have a feeling he will walk away. He looks so jaded.

Vettel wasn’t fired. He didn’t agree to terms but he had a contract in front of him from Ferrari

No, he did not have. Vettel himself came out and stated there was never a concrete contract offered to him. Technically he wasn't fired, rather "let go". The team decided that they'll invest on Leclerc going forward, and keeping Seb in the team as number 2 would never work out. It's as simple as that.

Proposing a new contract with terms that were unacceptable to Vettel was one way to show him the door.

Vettel stated - No offer made. He was fired. Period.

From what I gathered, Vettel was verbally told that he could be re-signed for just one year, and at a reduced wage.
If that satisfied him, a contract would have been drawn.
Then, within days, the news came that contact had been made with Sainz Jr.
Vettel understood the writting was on the wall and announced he would be leaving Ferrari.

U should revised ur definition of fired. He had a contract that was poor and unacceptable to
Him showing him the door but not fired

He said no offer. They called and said he would be released not renewed. BBC -

It emerged after Ferrari announced the German would leave that he had never been offered a new contract.

The four-time world champion, who turns 33 on Friday, said: "It was obviously a surprise to me when I got the call and Mattia [Binotto, Ferrari team boss] told me there was no intention from the team to continue.

"We never got into any discussions."

He added: "There was never an offer on the table and therefore there was no sticking point."

Vettel - no offer on the table. Cannot have a contract it seems without one. They can call Vettel.

Well, there is not point arguing about it.
My definition of being fired is to receive an official notification of severance from the employer.
I don't know in Italy, but in UK you cannot fire someone verbally, only by a letter of dismissal which is a legal document.
I suspect that Vettel was told verbally that his contract wouldn't be renewed, way before the notice period, or the option period.
Probably that enough of a snub for someone to call it being "sacked".

He was clearly not expecting it and there was no negotiation it appears. Terminated with a date of just after Yas it seems.

No offer made is not technically a firing!

It is a we aren't willing to allow you to stay--which can be interpreted as a firing, but it is not quite.

Say you had a lawyer on retainer and decided to put a different lawyer on retainer and take the first one off. You did not "fire" the first lawyer--you just don't require his work in the future. Subtle difference.

Hi Seb. We are not keeping you.

Fired or let go or released. Subtle but the same. You are not wanted lol

They should have fired him on the spot in Brazil last year.

The guy sucked and people laughed at Ferrari for keeping him. Now that Ferrari canned him the usual suspects are applying revisionist history to make it sound like Ferrari are unfairly terminating a great driver who brought so much success and, on top of that, they’ve hurt his feelings. Anything to keep Ferrari the team as the target of attacks.

What does history tell us about how Williams, Brabham, Lotus, McLaren Red Bull treated some of their drivers? Not much better, but here the team principles were acting with determination driven by a Will to succeed.

Getting rid of Damon hill in 97, I don’t see how that was a will to succeed, not resigning Mansell in 94 after his win in Adelaide over the great David coulthard...
I see that more as youth movement decisions, maybe money too,but will to succeed, not sure there. Thoughts?
