I saw a TR convertible on Miami beach yesterday and it was lovely. It begs the question who built these cars and how many are there?

As I understand, there are also two series of Testarossa spiders by Pininfarina with chassis numbers EFF109 to EFF113 and EFG086 to EFG091

Yes, the Agnelli Testarossa spider is chassis 62897 built as a one-off by Ferrari.

If I understand correctly, the EFF and EFG series are conversions by Pininfarina, using non factory serial numbers.

F-register shows 4 Testarossa chassis numbers as conversions to spider by Pininfarina: 75578, 80440, 83096 and 88867, I do not know if these 4 are part of the EFF or EFG range.

Thats the only one recognized by Ferrari. As far as I am concerned all the others are no different than a Straman.

I understood that the question was around who built the Testarossa spiders. So from my point of view Ferrari did one (the Agnelli car) as a one-off design and a number of coach builders - not just Straman - did the rest as conversions (Koening, Lorenz & Rankl, Pininfarina, Pavesi and probably others).

Is it correct that Ferrari never built it because the chassis had too little rigidity to handle the roof chop?

They never built it because there was no market. Since there was no intention of building one the chassis was not designed for it.

TR spiders are rubber. The coupe flex's so much they break the rear glass quite regularly. Biggest improvement in the TR512 was stiffening the frame. It is very evident when you drive one.

I originally thought that but the car didn't have the gold wheels. Theres an ex Michael Jackson car that was also a TR roadster conversion as well. I think Curated just sold the car.
