I’d hate to be the service manager making this phone call to the poor bastard. Hopefully wasn’t anyone here! Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is terrible. You're right it doesn't look like a factory shop. I hope The shop owner has insurance or deep pockets.
I worry about that every time I put mine on my lift. The rear lift points are close to 1/2 down the car. I seems like there wouldn't be enough weight on the front lift arms. I rock the car hard on the lift once it is 4" in the air and it is always stable...
I'm sure that has happened at a Ferrari dealer during a $3000 service at some point as well. Accidents happen.
Accidents happen. But for me that's an accident that should not happen--- ever. A local Stereo installer drilled into the fuel tank in and older Ferrari (not sure what year). Now that's an accident-- a costly one-- but could be forgiven (I suppose... especially if it's not my car )
On site there was photo recently whereby the service tech did not know or realize the C8 Corvette must be lifted differently from a front engine car and the exact event happened at 1st service. Certainly Not a good thing!
This and so many other "events" that seem to happen in every facet of life has me feeling like I trust almost no one I hire to do a job correctly, safely, and with expertise. I have the money to hire folks but I almost never get a job done correctly, safely, and with expertise-- and to add any degree of caring. Trouble is while I'm a very capable person, I simply run out of time in my life doing everything myself. Sorry for the slightly off topic rant. But really seeing too much of this.
Agree that accidents happen just hope no one was hurt. Insurance will cover this if I’m the US but not sure how other countries coverage works. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
This can happen at Ferrari dealers. I know first hand. Not a car falling off a lift, but someone accidentally driving the car and having a protruding metal object rip through the side of the car.

My 360 the day I picked it up at a "Ferrari dealership".....just throwing it out there. (look closely at the floor, coincidence?...maybe) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had a new Chevy pickup in for it's first oil change that the same thing happened to. It fell backward off the lift with much damage to the rear end which was repaired. Two weeks later I hit a deer with the front end. The truck was jinxed and was traded in soon after.
Everyone has their levels of what it would take (I believe) I for one would not want a damaged /repaired car in my garage but that is just me. Some owners don't care as much and are happy to have the car back and a little cash in the form of deprecation. Others would be happy to have their cars totaled, have the insurance company give their cars back to them and then do what they wish with it. To each their own. I just hope the owner is happy with the outcome in the end and they can move forward in their lives. A damaged car can't be "undamaged" in the end but it can be sold and another one can be purchased that has no story.
Cars are not damaged, parts are. If the damaged parts are replaced, then there is no damage. The caveat to that is: are ALL the damaged parts replaced?
