Are Pista cats the same part number as 488 GTB cats?

 

Do you have more pictures of the IPE muffler section? I almost never see photos of the routing for the valves. I'm not clear how valves silence the exhaust.

 

This exhaust just doesn't make sense ? Its a curved pipe with the valve. So if the valve is closed how does the exhaust work given there is no by pass ?

 

So I reached out to IPE and got a clear response. Not exactly what I was hoping for given their track record of awesome systems for other vehicles. The valve is indeed inline with the singular outlet per side. No internal split or baffling.

The valve mechanism is set up such that it never fully closes. When ECU sets the valves to the CLOSE position, the IPE exhaust partially closes which allows exhaust gases to still flow. Doesn't sound like it was really tuned, so I will probably pass on this system.
