    Hi All,

I do have SET Synchron testers (see pic) with various adapters but non fit the Weber DCS 36 on the Gte. I in addition have some old Motometer testers (second pic) but would prefer to use the SET. I can not find a suitable adapter for the SET. Before I start to turn adapters on the lathe I would like to now a.) if there is fitting adapter or b.) what you use as tool for synchronising the DCS?

    Thanks a lot

I’m not familiar with DCS, but for DCNs I’ve mostly worked on I have STE with couple of different (rubber) adapters, which I had to modify to make them work. Easy and inexpensive solution.
I also bought several other adapters for STE meter long time ago, but haven’t run across a need for any of them yet.

My Unisyn won’t fit on the carbs on my 330 GTC because of the choke butterflies. So to fine tune the idle I used a small rubber hose from the venturi to my ear.

Your Sychron tester in the photo looks to have the larger rubber cone adapter. the standard rubber cone adapter works fine on 36DCS Webers.

I spoke to SET and they in the past had a special adapter for the 36 DCS. They were so nice to look in their ,vaults‘ and diged out 3 of these old adapters for me. I do now have in addition to my bigger sk 2-40 a set of 3 matched SET Synchro Meters sK 1-30 with additional fitting adapters. Will post photos when I have them. Thanks for all your replies. Always a pleasure communicating here with you all.

Timo, absolutly right. They should rename themselves as I seem to always get it wrong... ;-)

    wow great
    thanks so much
I always make a small hole in the intake manifolds and put in then a 5 mm or 6 mm adapter on all 12 cylinder ( or even less cylinder ) and have then 12 vacuum gauges so I can see all at one sight and not have to switch always from one to the other cylinder. those gauges I have are from boehm ( https://www.boehm-synchrontester.de/ )

If you use the standard rubber cone adapter its easy, works fine. Its quick & easy. Why make it complicated?

The SK 30 has a cone of 39-54mm, the DCS 36 has a intake diameter of 38mm. To get an airtight fit and securely hold the meters an adapter makes a lot of sense, even more as I will have 3 meters working at the same time. Perhaps your meters do have other cones and therefor fit better?
