Yep. I will but it'll have to wait until I get an upgraded bbq.
Town not too far from me is known for its corn. Grocery stores advertise the corn from the place. Its in season now. So plan is too get some corn and a T-bone from the butchers. Corn on the cobb and steak, perfect summer meal.
Yummy, summer corn. We've had a mixed bag of it this year, some has been quite good, some has tasted like feed corn...T
Here the corn from the town is always very good. The feed corn, reminds me of a story my mom tells. My grand father was in the army and stationed in Germany. The Germans delivered all the essential groceries to the houses on the base. The farmer who delivered fruits and vegetables couldn't believe all the Canadian army families wanted corn. Guy said it was for cows and pigs not people.
Interesting! This web page backs that up. Apparently, corn was not only animal feed, but the German word for grain us kor. https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/34954/did-germans-receive-corn-instead-of-wheat-and-rye-after-ww2-due-to-a-translation I would guess a lots of things started out as peasant food in the old country, & then sort of morphed into comfort food after a while. Be careful Max! Last time I fell for a Wendy's coupon come-on, I had a date later that night with the Porcelain Throne! Spicy chicken, fries and a Frosty did me in. Mostly leftovers of late. I'm ready to call the smoked chuck roast experiment a bust. I just don't think there's enough mass to soak up enough smoke. Had it as leftovers last night as tacos. Meh. There's one more in freezer. Am thinking perhaps chili when it cools off. Tonight, salmon salad. Grilled salmon, little cayenne powder, S&P and lots of Wasabi. A jolt of teriyaki. On freshly baked bread. The almond flour remind me of linzer cookies as they call for almond flour. My wife's friend always made me some for my birthday pre DM. Not the same as those I used to eat back in the city. I know u can relate- you know the ones 4" in diameter with the flour on top..........luv linzers.......
