Ive had 3 C5 Z06’s and considered adding an ‘04 CE to go with my CS but I just purchased a ‘74 Alpha Romeo GTV 2000 instead.
All new cars are loaded with stuff I don’t want and never even asked for. Computer screens, massaging seats, turns off at the red light, lane change assist.... beep beep beep “slow down” beep beep. I can’t be the only person that thinks if the car is going to constantly tell me how to drive that it might as well just drive itself. All my cars are pre-“turns itself off at the red light” but they are not old. I have zero interest in replacing them for what I believe to be a lower quality car full of gadgets I don’t want. My daily cars are 2012 Supercharged Range Rover with 41k miles and a 2013 G63 with 31k miles. I still love them. I feel they don’t build cars like this anymore. My logic is to keep driving the cars I have until they come out with either more interesting cars or completely electric cars that will chauffeur me around town while I sit in the back seat. I don’t want a brand new car full of gadgets I don’t need that will just break.
They’re great cars and you can’t find them with low miles. Mine has 41k and I guess I’ll drive it to 99k and beyond.
Yeah I’ve only done oil changes and brakes.......pretty cheap 100k miles so far. I’ve also gat a 95 defender and a 94 RR classic.....both have lower miles than my 2014 lol
Yup. Amazing. another issue I have is I don’t drive anymore except to run errands. I don’t have to be anywhere.
I’ve been liking my Urus a lot, though the other day it jammed on the brakes for me when I was already braking the correct amount for the situation. Pissed me off, but otherwise great car. Maybe there’s some way to turn “precognition” off.
Pretty sure brake assist can be deactivated. My daily is a ‘19 Golf R and it has a bunch of “helpful” features that I turned off except for blind spot monitoring. I bought it because it’s a manual though. My CS and ‘74 Alpha GTV 2000 are the proper driving machines.
It pained me greatly when I let go of my 2007 Infiniti M35.....251k miles on the way to 300k. Had it from new. No real surprises ever , just routine maintenance. Everything worked, ride was great. I had an E check issue and about $1500 to fix it with no guarantee so I decided it was time to go. I have always drove my cars for six figure miles - something satisfying and bonding about it and don't feel the need for the latest and greatest. For some- its just the complete opposite and I guess that's ok. Whatever floats the boat. That was one of the primary reasons I sold the 599- the electronics in that scared the crap out me for the long haul. I don't mind putting money in a car for the return of satisfaction in driving it. When a stupid solder joint fails or a cable assembly connector cause a $2k failure in my display....that is where I draw the line. I dont see myself ever owning an F car newer than what I have.
No ****!!! Congratulations! You’ve been very patient. Where did you get it? Miles....details.......and of course more pics!
Yes. I dont see how they fix the number of electronic gadgets Installed in cars long term. We’re still rolling around on 4 wheels. It’s not like cars are flying. I just don’t see much difference between a 10 year old car and a brand new car.
