Selling for a friend. This 1996 BMW 850Ci is being offered in original condition by its current owner since 2017 and shows fewer than 24k miles. Sold new to a professional football player in Florida, it has had only three owners.

The car is powered by the 5.4-liter DOHC V12 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. All systems and accessories are operational, and the car runs and drives as it should. Recent work includes replacement of two fuel pumps, two batteries, and the headliner professionally repaired. This E31 is offered with two keys, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name. Car is located in Easton, PA.

Amenities include power-adjustable and heated front seats, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control (AC blows cold), a factory cassette player with six-disc CD player in the trunk, working sunroof, and functioning onboard computer. No dash warning lights are illuminated. The odometer indicates just under 24k miles, of which approximately 600 have been added by the current owner.

The engine is the naturally aspirated 5.4 liter DOHC 12-cylinder with 2 valves per cylinder. Factory specs for 1996 show an output of 322hp at 5000rpm, and maximum torque of 361 lb/ft at 3900rpm. Power flows to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.

A current CarFax report shows no accidents or other damage, listing 3 owners since new, including registration in Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Full Disclosure: It had an interesting early history, being “borrowed” in 1998 by a family member and driven to Alabama, where it was recovered unharmed. Based on Florida law, it was given a Rebuildable/Salvage title as it had crossed state lines before recovery. This issue is reflected in any CarFax or AutoCheck run, both of which I have copies.

Asking $47,500 or best offer. Please contact me via PM for additional details and more pictures.

Gorgeous car. Looks great in white.
Wondering Is the market getting strong for these older 12 cylinder BMW’s???
I remember the 8 cylinder models were a nightmare.

I think ironically the 12 cylinders were/are more reliable.

Big fan of E31s. Tragic with the title, but interesting story. GLWS!

Thanks for the great comments and views. I will post some additional pictures to reinforce the superb condition this car is in.

Amazingly, its little “family adventure” only impacted the Florida title, and the car still looks and drives the way it should.

Strange, those side mirrors are from a 7 series, not an 8. Nice white though.

Really nice car, but it seems like your friend wants to keep it at this price.

Beautiful car, I had the 850 CSI , I still regret selling it.

Fantastic car for the day, way too heavy from the extra battery and all the electronics, but way ahead of its time

850csi was one of my favorite cars growing up. This 850 is so nice I wish I could buy it and convert it to a manual.

It was amazing having a manual 6 speed in that car. It was as heavy as a truck, but once you were on the highway it was as smooth as a Jaguar

Plus that BMW Motorsport stitching on the steering wheel was so incredible. The little things in 1995 that stay with me ha.
