I did a Google search as well as a forum search, and most of the links are dead or the referenced seats are out of production.

I have a (very large) 2 year old, about 35 pounds and tall. Not ready for a booster seat only so I need a forward facing car seat. Has anyone recently purchased something that works and fits for sure?

I am 6-4, so this would be for the front passenger seat or the rear seat behind the passenger, and I'd probably lose the ability to carry another adult...but at least my son will be able to ride in his "race car" :)

The problem is making sure something like the Diono Rainer actually fits on the package shelf that the California calls a seat :)

I ordered a Clek Foonf. 17 inches wide and seems like it should work. Expensive but apparently very well made.

same issue as the Diono & Clerk Fllo, it's simply too big for the car. The rigid latch on the foonf doesn't work as it extends too far but it was such a nice seat i've kept it for my model x.

And there was no way to modify it or decrease the reach of the latch?

It's just hard for me to visualize it of course, haven't tried all the options like you have.

I have yet to find a car seat that fits in the back of the California, has anyone found one or is using one that works? Looking for a forward-facing one.

Hey Guys. This seat fits fine in the back of my '16 Cali. My six-year-old son loves it.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07ZG7F3CC

Another tip for making a little extra leg room is to tilt the passenger seat forward (like you do to get in the back), it will then move forward a little automatically. When it does, hold the seat forward button in the position to move it forward and hold it while pushing the seat back in to the upright position. It will then stay those couple of inches forward, giving a little extra room in the back.

The other alternative is to fit Portofino seats which are thinner.

    Hope this helps.

Diono 3RXT fits -- took my kid for a ride yesterday so finally took a pic with the car seat in. I mentioned this in another car seat thread but I don't think anyone believed me without a pic (and I don't blame them, I tried other options in these threads that supposedly work but didn't).

I tried that one and could not get it to sit flat for some reason. Might be worth giving it another go once I pick up the next car.

Can you kindly share info on how to remove the back seat attachment cover that is on the car covering the car seat hooks?

    Thanks in advance.

Hey Dan. As far as I could so, only the bottom seat cover can be removed. You have to give it a good tug! But be careful as it looks like the clips holding it in place break easily. Both mine had been replaced with velcro to hold it in place.

I just ordered the car seat listed below for 2015 T. I will update the thread after testing the fitment.
