As the title states, where can I buy an 812 Superfast engine. I have been watching copart. Car_part.com was a no go....

I am building a project car and decided a straight pipe V12 would make my day. I don't like the way the German versions sound: low grumble vs high pitched shriek.

Ideally, I would get the wiring harness, intake and exhaust manifolds, throttle bodies, etc.

    Any ideas?

Otherwise, I am stuck going the procharged LS4 route.

    My first thought is cool.....

My 2nd thought is don't you think this engine is too new to have spares lying around?

Why not something like a 599? Should be spares or wreck donations around.

The project car is an exercise in the obscene, so MORE POWER out of the 812. If I go the procharged LT4 route, I will shoot for 1500-2000 hp. I'd trade that for the sound of the Ferrari V12 though.

Ever thought to call your closest Ferrari dealer? I'm sure the parts guy would love to get the commission on that sale.

Likely not feasible. By the time I ordered the engine, intake, ex, wiring harness, throttle bodies it would be about $1k more than a new 812 Superfast.

Maybe have a look at EuroSpares. They seem to have all kinds of new engines available..complete with harness, t-bodies etc. Have never searched for an 812 engine tho. Would an F12 engine work? Should be a few out there by now..

Hoping to be around $60-70k range. I'd think a truly 'totalled' 812 vs a rebuildable one would be in that range.

Yes, I suppose it would do, the F12. I'm sure an aftermarket tune could bring out a few more ponies!

I have no clue on the motor but sure would like to see more on whatever you are building. Do you have any sort of blog or build thread anywhere documenting this project? Any instagram or anything?

I thought that a new 812 engine was around $105k by itself. For a fresh block.

I don't know. It is probably a little too early to know what totaled 812's will sell for. I doubt many have been destroyed and been through auction yet.
