I thought that as soon as I typed it. I was going to include a disclaimer that I meant no offense, and then decided being PC isn't worth the energy.

When I first read it, I knew what you meant. I also thought maybe some very politically correct person on the board will think the car is somehow helping you discover your true self and applaud you for it :)

It looks like Race Deck. Check out racedeck.com

It is RaceDeck. I would just do a nice epoxy over the concrete if I was to do it over again.

    1. It expands when it gets warm from only the sun hitting it with the garage door open and the outside edge buckles until it cools off, which can be a tripping hazard.
    2. The seams between the pieces allow any liquid to get under the flooring. It’s not bad if it’s just a little water after parking a vehicle driven in the rain, but if you work in your garages and spill any oil or fuel it’s a bit of a pain to take up to clean beneath.
    3. If you work in your garage the race deck really can’t take the force transmitted through a jack or jack stands and the flooring deforms. If you have a single-footed jack like some MB use, it can be dangerous because the jack could move and drop the vehicle. You have to put a support under the jack like a piece of plywood or 2x6.
    4. Sometimes when backing in with a RWD car, if you don’t get the front wheels smoothly over the entry transition and give it a little too much gas, the rear tires will pull the flooring apart at the joints and you have to take the car out and put it back together.

Generally, it looks cool and you can do colors and patterns, but practically, it’s kind of a pain in the ass.

That was great info on your racedeck. I was considering putting that in but your input has saved me the hassle. Thanks!

We did racedeck flooring in our garage back in December here in San Diego. We did a red/black side for the red and black cars, and a blue/black side for the blue/black cars. It was replacing the epoxy over concrete that we had done previously. The 458 and Maserati in particular were tearing the covering off the old floor so it was just bare concrete under their tires. Fortunately I have not had the problems you have experienced. I think a lot depends on the weather where you live with heat and rain and we don't really have much of either here. My wife loves it:

They look soft....prefer the old squarish design. The drive can be a bit quirky rough, but has a lot of character (old gen).
    Great off roader too.

I DD an AMG E63s Love the car, but when the lease is up in 8 months, I am considering saving some bucks (current lease is ~ $2,100/month) and getting some sort of an AMG "53" variant. Maybe the CLS 53. Has anyone on here had a '63 anything and then went to a '53? if so, while I know it will have less oomph, will I be wholesale disappointed?

    Thanks

Well the 458S is up there as one of my favorite cars that I've owned, not far behind the 911R.

The R8 V10 is a treat. I never tire of that gated manual that sounds like you're loading a glock with every shift, and with the unvalved tubi that thing screams at high rpm like nothing else. It's plenty fast and so much NA goodness for what it costs.

Gun to my head I'll take the 458, but not by much.

Let me truly be honest ... :)
