My #12 arrived today, exactly 3 weeks after it was mailed from magsdirect in the U.K. I guess that's not too bad in the current environment, but it still seems like too long for something that was supposedly sent By Air Mail. On that basis, my #13 should arrive by 9 August.
And thanks to the gentleman above I also ordered issue 13 off the same English eBay seller . Guess what... crickets too !!
I ordered both #12 and #13 online and both arrived earlier this week. #13 was from Newsstand and #12 was from a vender off eBay. I am sure everybody else will get their magazines in short order. Still sorry to see this magazine go away.... B/w, Gene Greer
ENZO #12 arrived ok from Loch Lomond and so did a copy of the new EVO in a different order there and well packed with no damage either. I to don't have #13 yet though...
Horton’s currently have #13 on their website if anyone wants one that is not at eBay prices: https://www.hortonsbooks.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=14097
Got my copy yesterday. While it was sent in an outer envelope, somewhere between England and Michigan, the magazine suffered greatly. It arrived with more bends, folds and creases than an origami competition. But at least it arrived. Those postal machines!
This is a new company for me and a great find. I will have to look and see what else they have there Love this about this site... sharing information and resources with each other. I might even try to find the time to stop by their store when my wife and I are in London. Regards, Gene Greer
I got a good laugh out of this.... I thought I was the only one in this world that this happened to. Looks like I am in good company though Glad to see your magazine arrived in the end. Best wishes, Gene Greer
Mine was a bit dog-eared and had a few creases, but not bad considering it came from the other hemisphere!
Surprise! #13 arrived today, 3 August, in better condition that #12 did, so now I've got them all. I read the editor's letter and he said that this would be the last issue "in this form for the time being". I read that as an optimistic sign that once the pandemic is past, they might very well return to printed issues, as well as digital, which is the trend for many magazines at present. I don't mind digital for things like newsletters, but for a full-fledged magazine, I want a printed copy in my hands, so I hope that a return to the newsstand will occur in due time. And I hope they realize that to some extent, any financial problems they've had with Enzo are due as much to their botched handling of subscriptions (as noted often in this thread) as to the coronavirus.
As of today, still NO Enzo magazine #12 and no #13 has arrived here. They have a dozen emails from me and calls with some Dennis employee, a female using the name Samantha Stevens and still nothing has happened. On top of all that I also got a renewal notice for Octane magazine although I have prepaid for two years and the last issue I got was 206. They say (online) 209 is to be sent shortly. I never got Octane 207 and 208........(despite full payment). Very clearly: This editor/publishing house are fraudsters. They take your money (charge your credit card) but do NOT deliver. I live near Zurich, Switzerland, so, not really at the end of this world. Do NOT susbscribe from these people. Marcel Massini
That’s incredible, Marcel. How difficult would it be for someone at Dennis to simply be a human being, personally go get two magazines, slip them into an envelope and send them to you? As much as I love and respect the British, sometimes they can be a case study in passive-aggressive behavior (or “behaviour”). I must say that whenever I had delivery difficulties with Enzo the U.S. distributor was always very helpful.
It IS incredible and absolutely UNBELIEVABLE. These people are clear fraudsters. Criminals. Marcel Massini
Even though I have #12 & #13, I go to the local Barnes & Noble twice a week (next door to my bank) So i'm checking. I'll let you guys know if they got some in. I'll purchase a few.
Thanks for the info.... Great things to know. Odd that their website says that they welcome visitors with an advanced call. If not a shop, at least a site that will entertain customers. 80 miles is a trek but not impossible, esp. when there is something I want to see. You never know what you might find. I love little trips out of the city when we are on vacation. Thanks again, Gene Greer
Gene, it’s a warehouse, but they are great people So if you can get an appointment then you’ll find plenty of books. You’ll have a heavy suitcase on your way back home. Nathan
I believe Horton’s maintain some inventory in the US, or at least they used to, for venues such as Amelia Island and Monterey. I recall purchasing something from them several years ago which was shipped from the US.
The order I placed with Newstand UK in mid July arrived yesterday in Australia. Shipped in a plastic bag, the spine is bent, at least I received something.
Never had any issues with damage to my copies shipped to the US. Sometimes they arrived a bit late and sometimes I received 2 copies, but they always arrived. Sad to see them shutting down - they had good content.
