    I am trying to find the approximate date that Enzo and Battista Farina met halfway to join forces. Invariably, the reference is “in 1951.” So far, the only clue I have seen is in Ferrari Pininfarina by Lionel Froissart: “At the beginning of the summer of 1952, barely one year after the legendary meeting in Tortona, the first Ferrari bodied by Pininfarina was unveiled—the 212 Inter.” So perhaps it was May of 1951? Can anyone confirm, deny or discuss that?

    Luca Dal Monte in his book "Enzo Ferrari" states that

    "Before the start of the 1951 F1 World Championship, Enzo Ferrari went to Tortona"

    Later he says

    "On Sunday May 27, the Swiss Grand Prix in Bern inaugurated the ... Formula One ...
