placed an order for 2020 coupe -z51 -mag susp -black rims -mud guards -rapid blue price on z-51 package went up $1000 9 month wait.
Recently? So, then you mean a 2021, right? Price increases: (from Corvetteblogger.com) However, we did guess correctly that certain options would most likely be raised for the 2021 model year. These are the returning options from 2020 with the new 2021 Pricing. I have also included the 2020 pricing in parenthesis. The most popular options receiving a price increase are the Z51 Performance Package and the E60 Front Lift: Z51 – Z51 Performance Package $5,995 ($5,000) E60 – Front Lift $1,995 ($1,495) 5DF – Black Trident Spoke Wheels $2,895 ($2,695) 5JR – Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers $1,245 ($1,145) RCC – Engine Cover in Red $525 ($495) RCD – Engine Cover in Sterling Silver $595 ($495) RIA – All weather Floor Liners $205 ($195) CAV – Contoured Cargo Area Liners $145 ($135)
If my order doesn't get kicked into 2021 I'll save over $1500 and get only the year they will run Blade Silver. The only 2021 upgrade I won't get is wireless Apple Car play but I prefer to plug my phone in and put it in the armrest anyway. Over time I expect there to be fewer and fewer requesting Z51 because of the cost. Its now a 10% increase in the MSRP, which is a lot for many people if they aren't going to track it. Crossing fingers as its probably going to be close....
Well, in the Ferrari you get the best exhaust already, the Electronic Diff, and Carbon Ceramic brakes (which you can't even get on the C8) as standard. F cars are expensive but they are expensive for a reason. To me they are Apples and Oranges. One is a mass produced car that a lot of people can afford. The other is a specially built small production jewel for the limited few who can afford a car more that costs more than the average house. But when it comes to real numbers, the C8 is the bargain of the century.
Yes, apples and oranges. I do think that higher income buyers won't really care about options prices to get the car the way they want it though.
the dealer said this was standard black trim. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login View attachment 1641441
Yes. Its what they call "Carbon flash". What they do is mold the plastic in black and then spray a clear coat with metalflake in it. They used it also on the C7. Its a step up from just black plastic. I'd like to replace the side "boomerangs" with aftermarket CF.
here are some dealer pix. all the body gaps looked very good except between the front fender and door. up by the mirror. seemed excessive. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was able to sit in a C8 a few months ago at a stop along the dealer tour, and the seats are significantly improved over previous generations. My only complaint about them is that the design of the perforations makes certain leather colors look dirty. The light grey and tan in particular.
The car looks so much cleaner without that spoiler. The lines are smooth and to me, it looks much better visually. When the time comes, I’d like to pick up a convertible sans spoiler. Maybe that colour as well. Just stunning Mayor, are you getting a convertible?
Yes. not sure when its going to be made but might be September. Originally it was suppposed to be Feb or March. So far they have not told me it's moved to 2021 but who really knows. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Option. I think its like $300. Only available in black. In the aftermarket someone has vinyl plastic ones already.
When ordering your car, and the dealer won't budge on price, try to get him to at least throw in the floor mats for free and make sure that he doesn't try to slip in that $500 TruCoat undercoating onto your contract! .
"It Takes Two" a car movie from 1988 still makes me smile. The car dealer tricks were too apt and too funny, and many are still relevant! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095384/ Kim Foster Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’ve been slowly starting to lean further towards a convertible. I’m not sure what it is but the car minus the roof just looks something else. Much prefer it to the removable roof on the Stingray
I never liked Targas, not even on the 308. They are a pain in the ass to put on and take off. I don't care how "easy" it looks. Try doing it in a sudden rainstorm. How many C7's do you ever see with the targa's removed going down the street? You decide you want to have the top off. SO you have to stop and then remember to open the truck. Next you undo the latches on the inside, step outside, and awkwardly remove the top by yourself. Ok, you have the top in your hands (hopefully its not too hot from the sun) and you carry it back and lock it in the trunk. Then get back in your car and buckle up. If you stop somewhere you have to put the top back on or leave it where someone can reach in while you're not there. Which means when you leave, no one takes it off again. Too much work for the effort. You might do this a month. After that... meh. For me, if the weather is nice I just want to push a button and let it do everything, even if I'm still rolling. And if its too hot I can put the roof back on in 10 seconds. Its work the money for me.
Just reading this made me tired, sheesh. And that’s another reason why I prefer the convertible vs the coupe. Less hassle, more enjoyment. I get frustrated easily so I’m sure I’ll get pissed off trying to struggle with the roof in a moments notice
