    ???
Sounds awfully difficult to come up with or present an air tight (& - cooled?) history for something like that.

I can understand locals getting upset , i've been attending motor week since 2011 and have noticed the quality going down. The events are still good, but with all the YouTubers and crazy kids peeling out and driving like maniacs its taken away from the elegance of the whole event. I'm glad they have increased the prices of the actual Concours, hopefully this will keep the Riff Raff out. 2019 they had to close ocean drive due to unruly driving , it was sad, i've never seen that before.

Since I don't actively follow auctions, can't say I "remember", but had (strong) suspicions of some intended pun in your statement, hence my somewhat cryptic reply. :D

Oh, it was well ruined even by the first year you went. The best years were 1980s, '90s.

I have paid many a scalper over the years.....

The Quail refunded full amount without the slightest problem and all was done within a very short time. First class.

I have attended the August motor events starting in the mid 90's. The last time I went was in 2015 and it will probably be a long time before I attend again. For me, the weekend turned into week has gotten too difficult logistically, too crowded, too expensive and too much attitude.

After exactly 8 (eight!) months and numerous "communications" (to put it mildly) our national airline SWISS finally refunded the 17 Grand (seventeen) I had paid in December 2019 for flights from Switzerland to San Francisco in order to attend this week's Monterey madness.

    No further comments.

I stopped doing Monterey week(end) as well for a lot of the same reasons. Instead I do the Goodwood Revival, better cars, and food is just as ****ty.
