    I just watched it on FS2.

    Alpha drivers, extinct nameplates, bigo cars, no Toyotas, tobacco sponsors, unobtrusive commentary.

    Tim Richmond drove a flawless race to beat the best in the sport. It’s truly a shame his self control didn’t match his car control.

    As they say, "Cocaine is a great drug".

    There was a story, can't remember who relayed it or where I read it, but the scenario was that
    all Cup drivers were posing for a class group picture and during the photo shoot, Richmond
    had whipped out "Mr. Johnson" and no one caught the incident during editing in time for the image
    to go out.

    Certainly, NASCAR in it's original form was filled with colorful characters and more than enough
    real stories to create the legends rather than the canned PR BS that they've been shoving down
    our throats for more years than may be remembered now.

    The McDuffie Loop. I attended the Bud at the Glen in 1990(pre-loop) and was impressed with how close they ran to each other. Lap 1(and each re-start) was a high speed freight train up the hill and down the back straight. Thrilling stuff! Braking distances were pretty long and got progressively longer. NASCAR of today bores me to tears, it's become the WWF.

    With that in mind, why is it not questioned how it is that during cautions on road courses,
    the field must go the pit lane speed limit all the way around the circuit?

    These are the times when NASCAR's outright manipulative nonsense is at its highest on
    road courses as the pack crawls around the track at a snails pace so they may start monkeying around with the running order manipulating their melancholy result in keeping with their
    narrative.

    Can't count how many times road course "ringers" have come in to Watkins Glen and
    Sears Point only to be set back by NASCAR's heavy handed tactics, just ask Ron Fellows
    sometime.
