Love the Marine Magnum! And it's on my list.

Mossberg 930SPX holds 8 rounds. While the Benelli M2 and M4 holds 3+1 and 5+1 respectively.

Remington 870 Marine Magnum holds 6+1

And then there's the 870 Special Purpose Marine Magnum. It holds "6" rounds. Not sure what the other differences are other than the stock and grip.

Any variant of the Remington 870 is thin on the ground right now..

I just paid $500 for a used one, wood stocks and will have to cut the barrel to 18"
Trading back for an unfired one, I sold in "hard times"

The $300 plastic ones at Academy are long sold out....
My background checks are getting booted to "wait a minute' status, someone said any multiple gun deal does that

If you want a conventional pump shotgun, get a Remington 870.

If you want a high-capacity pump oddball, get a KelTec KSG.

    I've got both! And a beautiful Baretta, and a pretty-but-not-Purdy side-by-side.

I vote the Benelli M2. I have an M1 S90 and it cycles super fast and no jams.

    I think it's a "inside joke" on the 870 .12 GA Riot...

TDC has them by the hundreds. and the answer to your question is, indoors, no...outdoors, still no.
It's a point blank range weapon.

As I've found recently, most pump action shotguns are sold out locally. I have no need for high-dollar hunting/collector's shotguns and am not really interested in auto-action either.

I guess I'll see what I end up with.

FBI agent told me once the two scariest sounds to a B&E guy were the rack of a 45 and the pump of a shotgun.

Of course, this is back when these guys were pros. Today you’re more likely to run into hopped up gangbangers. I had a client who wasted three coming up the stairs in his home. He was no billed.

I wonder if the Benelli action is unique? I'm not an autoloader shotgun fan at all because I hate the way the action feels when you shoot it. I love the old Benelli Super90 which fired and recoiled just like a semi-auto pistol crisp, sharp, fast. I think is was called or still is montifiori recoil system?

Thanks for the all the replies.

To clarify, I'm looking for an auto-loader (all three I mentioned are - I already have a Mossberg 500 variant pump)

I think both the M2 and the M4 are unique designs by Benelli. (but my understanding of how they do their thing ends there)

I keep one chambered with safety on in the 870 so they wont hear it loading.

My single action .45s sound different from the 1911s but they do let you know somethings about to happen...

I think the "in the dark against burglars" has been replaced by Gang banging in your door, like the recent fatality in Baytown.
None of the perps was 25, two of them teens...

Apologies for the thread drift into market on scatter guns.
