Thats just bad ass man, all thats needed is the Ferrari badge on the nose. I've seen a few like that. Fastest turbo prop out there, and what a sound. You know it when one passes overhead.

How do you like this compared to the jet?

Love it. 30 knots faster than my Mustang, same fuel flow and cabin is 3 times larger. 1/2 the noise level too. Just too cool.

I love its Ferrari associations too...

A corporation I flew for had a Beech Starship. I only had a few hours flying it since I was mainly flying the F90 King Air. It was ostentatious on the ramp, for sure! It was very close to our Citation II on a long trip. Cool ride, but man did that thing break a lot!

    cheers
    Dave

Yeah there are only 2 left, both based at Addison. An engineer owns both and he uses one for parts. He also owns a CAD CAM based business that produces industrial parts so he can produce his own (under FAA special authorization). I don’t know how he does it frankly but it’s cool seeing the Starship fly now and then.

Not sure about that... we have one in the Denver area (Rocky Mountain Airport) that I actually heard, then saw flying a month or so ago. The guy here supposedly has a bunch of parts warehoused also.

It's the one that flew chase for Rutan's Spaceship One.

I just checked ... apparently there are 5 private ones. Two in Dallas, two in OK, and one in Co.

Beech bought and destroyed the remaining 45

I see a Piaggio somewhat regularly at Centennial airport near Denver, also...

    Great aircraft. Congrats.

After 3 years without a plane, my new acquisition has reached prebuy status today. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly and closing can/should take place in about 3 weeks time! I can’t wait to list photos!

Can you give us a hint as to what aircraft you're buying?

Ernie Gann's favorite airplane. I got to fly it once, right seat only but didn't bend anything. Nice to fly!

Always loved the design of the 310. Sky King even replace his T-50 with one.

From the "Bamboo Bomber" to the "Blue Canoe" (USAF version).... we have a U3 at Wings of the Rockies Air Museum here.

The Songbird... Watched both on TV on Saturday mornings.

Sorry guys! - I totally forgot to list it in my original post. It’s a C680 (Citation Sovereign).

Sovereign is a great airplane. Not the most fun to fly (flew much less nicely than I was expecting, coming from a CE-500/Learjet background), but very capable.

My boss (at the time) ordered a very early serial number, and I went through Sovereign initial with the Sovereign Product Manager from Cessna. He was getting his type rating as well, and it was great because any questions about why something was done a certain way, he knew the answer! Unfortunately, our company had some financial reverses about that time, and the Sovereign was sold almost right away, so I never got much real experience in it.

A typical Stinson design, stabile and smooth flying. Nice airplane. The first one that I flew I think was in 1947 and I couldn't get over the plush and comfy interior.

    Beautiful, especially with the pants.
My uncle flew it's cousin, an L-5, in the Pacific in WW2.

My wife's father had a 108 before he bought his new V tail in 1947. I made a propeller mount for the original wooden prop and it's in our living room.

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

The propeller is about seven feet across and the mount is a reproduction of the cowl.

Thanks, Guys! I’m pretty excited. I got my tailwheel endorsement in one about a month ago from a good friend and fellow 310 owner and I was hooked! So a twin, now a tailwheel, the next one to complete the fleet will have to be an open cockpit biplane!:p

more pics on the journey home with it.

    cheers
    Dave
